Remember why you are doing this... it's not for your own benefit. It's so that you can brighten this person's day. Don't get mixed up with inconsequentials... Don't force what might never be. Do this for the reasons you first intended, and accept whatever happens.
You may get hurt here. You may travel all that way just to be let down. Don't be disappointed. Don't get your hopes up. If you get hurt, it is your own fault. I dont know why you are doing this in the first place. Can't you just send a letter? Make a simple telephone call? Why this? Why now?
Don't expect this to change things. When you leave, things will remain as they always have, or worse yet, you may fuck up what you have. Do you really want that? Is it worth that much to you to risk something really good, for the possibility of something wonderful?
Do yourself a favor, and do NOT, i repeat, DO NOT tell him all those things that you write so late in the night. Do not tell him what is in your heart that first moment that you see him, if you see him at all. Do not make a fool of yourself. Smile, and give him a hug. Give him what you came to give him. Tell him that you cannot stay... you have places to be. He probably has places to be too. Don't look into his eyes too long. Don't hug him too long. Be brief.
Whatever happens, don't say i didn't warn you. you are walking on thin ice with this one. I can't promise you that you won't hate yourself in the morning. Do what you set out to do, don't make things complicated for either one of you. Your being there will be hard enough. Don't fuck this up. I beg of you. I plead with you, one last time, not to go through with this, although i know your mind is already made up.
I just want you to know that you will not find the person you are looking for. You will find someone who looks like him, and has his same voice, but you know that is not the person you met way back when. Things have changed. Your lives took separate paths. If you let those paths cross for this brief intersection, keep going, do not get off that path. Do not follow him down his, because you will end up lost and alone. More so than you already are.
Do me one more favor, whatever happens... leave it there. Do not bring it home with you. No emotions, no memories. Just come back the same way you left. Cuz despite what you think, this is just not going to change anything.
