Hello all,

My name is Josh and I have been surfing bluelight forums for I believe about a decade. I never really got involved in discussion, I just used them to mine information while I was in a very active addiction to multiple substances. I have since become abstinent to drugs with the exclusion of a very little bit of alcohol very spaced out. My main motive here is harm reduction and perhaps just the correspondence with people to make me feel like all of the information and experiences that I lived through can be applied to help other people. I started out with marijuana as a teenager and then become addicted to opiate prescription pain pills as I approached 20. The addiction evolved into all opiates including heroin. Preferred route of administration at the apex was intravenous. Towards the last few years of active addiction I began with methamphetamine. Preferred route of administration was intravenous at the apex, but was initially smoking. I have tried all every way possible. Throughout all this experiences just by the crowd surrounding I have been introduced to about everything you could imagine and tried twice as much. During the early stages of my opiate addiction I attended Indiana University. This all ended with my arrest. The jail prison system definitely changed me, however, I am now free with a job as a supply chain logistics supervisor and returning back to school. My previous studies were in biology and chemistry, now I study business. I find it helpful to lurk and post on message boards while I do homework and in between note-taking. If you see me posting, I will not be argumentative or judgmental. I will probably just be throwing out things that I have read or learned over time from either text or experience. I'll be ethical while remaining cool and abide by the rules. If for whatever reason I break a rule, a quick message will get me right in line, which I doubt I will but I know that there are extensive syntax needing used for this to be as safe as it is.

Thanks for having me,
Josh

Hey @Jsturgell - Welcome to Bluelight, officially!

I always love to convert lurkers into members. Their knowledge is great and your experience based opinions are always welcome here.

And guess what, i graduated the Kelley School of Business at IU with an accounting degree. Have since gotten a felony charge so haven't been able to apply it aside from my brief time at State Street Corporation before my manic episode, but my case should be dismissed in February and i have all intentions on getting back into finance. Raised in MA, residing in MA. Indiana was alright.. but i like my people with a bit more edge ;)

Josh, again, it is great to have you - you seem like a very level headed guy. I'm sure you know your way around by now, but if you have any questions, shoot me a PM.

Peace.

Madness00,

Thanks for the warm welcome. Really respect that you made it through the Kelley school of business, it is one of the more prestigious for financial degrees. Making it there has kind of been a new goal of mine recently. I find myself in an accounting class right now and I'm curious as to how you made a major out of this strange business language though :) I have nightmares of credits and debits.

The initial accounting class is definitely a "weed out" class - most either pass easy or fail hard. Keep at it and don't be ashamed to use office hours it's all really logical when you start to feel it click. Just never sign up for advanced investment accounting *eyes bugging out smiley face*.

Good luck, and hope to see you around the forum.
