So I live close to a city where there's an open drug market. Most of the time I go to the same spots to get what I'm looking for and more or less I get what I want. Now on a few separate occasions I have to go to another spot to get stuff but I've been denied because I look like a cop! Wtf! Has this happened to any of you before? The job that I work I have to look presentable to customers (shaved, hair looks good, etc.). What are your guys' stories? What do you guys do? Just go somewhere else or do you roll up the sleeve and show them the good ol' track marks? That shit is irritating! Anyways lemme hear whats good. Also it's good to post here, I haven't logged in in like 2 years haha!
 
Yeah, I got accused of that once too. It's because I look "square", most likely (as you alluded to). It was also because I "looked nervous", but that's understandable in my mind because it was my very first time in a very dangerous area of the east coast, and my first time cold-copping solo

The idea that someone would "look like a cop" is absurd anyway...as if the police don't have the capability to get the most raggedy, track-mark-ridden junkie to be an informant for them 8)

Anyway, when it happened to me I just denied the accusation and argued with the guy who made it. I had already bought stuff, though...the deal had already been made. It still irritated me, though...it offends me almost on a personal level since I have an active dislike/distrust of law enforcement.
 
Yeah it's annoying especially when you're sick. Idk it might also be a race thing. Whenever I go with my buddy and he will usually go cop because he never has that problem so it's whatever.
 
this has happened to me too, and I'm a girl that does NOT look like a cop (imo), but I also have to dress in business casual attire for work, and like to dress nicely on a daily basis anyway, have a nice car, speak proper English, so on and so forth. The people who accused me of it obviously got over it and we went on to have good "business" relationships for many years. however, these situations weren't cold copping situations--the 2 times that it happened to me, both were my first time meeting someone who I had been referred to by someone else. That said, I was always able to use the excuse that I had known [insert name of person who hooked me up with the person I was meeting] for X number of years and nothing happened to anyone, and if I wanted to snitch, I obviously would have done it years ago. I don't personally think I'd start rolling my sleeves up if I was you, but that's just my personal opinion.

...but yeah, I hear your frustration and I also found it really offensive and took it very personally when it happened to me.

Yeah I've found showing tracks to be the quickest way to settle the conversation too. Happens to me all the time, because I really do look like a cop (well dressed, clean cut, 20- to 30-something white guy, and always nervous around new people). I always joke that it's good that I look like a cop, because that means the other cops won't be looking at me. Sometimes though I wonder if there's some truth to that, as not once have I ever been stopped hitting up east harlem and south bronx projects in the middle of the night. Or anywhere else for that matter.
 
A few years back people would say I was too healthy yo be a junkie and I would just take off my jacket or roll up my sleeves.

Just say something funny.

Honestly if I am even smoking weed I kinda check out who is around me and make sure they are cool.

I dunno its more how someone acts. If you all nervous they gonna pry at that. They are basically testing you out.

I do it to people just because I am careful as to who is around me and honestly if I am kicking it with friends I want dudes to leave and women to stay so if I have to be a prick to someone to make that happen, sometimes I do.
 
I don't go to random dealers (open air markets.)

i don't get accused of being a cop people say it's obvious i'm not for some reason.

one dude I got introduced to by someone asked if i was a cop maybe 10 years ago. i felt insulted and he was obviously soft so i punched him in the face and took his shit.
 
^did u punch him in the face just because you were insulted....or was it really just because u wanted his shit and you wouldve done it anyways even if he didnt insult u? or a combination of the two. just curious
 
when i was copping in person ('08-'12) i lived in the whitest state in america, so being a young white guy who seemed to "have it together" never worked against me.

if someone ever doubted my legit-ness these days i'd straight up offer to do some of the drugs in front of 'em. not joking. don't have time to give fucks any more.

Oddly enough that tactic seems to work.

I guess that just goes to show how stupid the average street-level dealer is, seeing as how CIs do drugs all the time. Hell so do undercover cops for that matter
 
Yeah, there's nothing preventing a cop or CI from pulling that tactic, it's mainly showing that you're eager to do the drugs and make right that is the effective part I'd imagine. And yeah... people are dumb. Computer copping all the way for this here hombre.
