There is no excuse for doctors not yo prescribe pain medication if there is proof on the xray/MRI
And if you go in with an X-ray you refuse to show and haven't had a MRI... then what?

Your step fathers life was ruined my pain meds?? How many lives are ruined by legal alcohol & cigarettes?

There is a huge under prescribing epidemic in every country......& its cone to the US......maybe there's a hidden agenda by our govt to have people get hooked on heroin, I mean they are over in Afghanistan with the CIA & military guarding the biggest poppy fields, you get where I'm going with this.
Anyway, back on topic.......the doctor should take responsibility in prescribing adequate pain meds, hydrocodone would work usually......& its the patients job to take the meds as prescribed.
Do patients get put of control with their meds? Of course it happens, & it happens a lot, but it happens with alcohol & tons of other things.
Most doctors are a joke when it comes to prescribing pain meds now a days.
As for does the OP really need pain meds? We can only state what we've read on here about his visit to the ER
thanks for your kind words sir so for the only thing that has helped is 2 5/325 oxycodones i just got home from the mri i hope it is nothing too serious. on a side note the doc said that he would right me a script for percocet if the t3s dont work which they dont and / or the mri shows something bad. sorry if this dont make sense just down 120mgs of temazapam powder.I agree. Women who give childbirth are only given Motrin 800 to come home on, surgery patients are given Tramadol, etc.
Shitty drugs.
When I work E.R. shifts, patients are screened, seriously. If you have a substantial history with opiates, they try to deter you from getting them, unless it's a real trauma...such as severed finger, broken bone, etc.
A patient had taken Suboxone .. it was in her pharmacy record (shit you not, they pull up your RX history) A year later, she's got a whiplash injury, so she gets the lecture of being an addict and gets nothing but Motrin. The patient only took one month of Suboxone but because it was on her history, no pain meds for her.
Pain can cause HBP and other issues, I agree that if you are in pain, you should get at least 5mg percs, or something.
i have heard this from "other" people bitch, moan, and complain about the pain. but not too much and do not do something stupid like asking for dillies just tell him the meds arent working good luck my friend. this of course is if you are after pain reliefdam i broke my foot in 3 different places and i got sent home with tylenol with codeine which didn't do shit :/

this was last summer i was bitchin and moaning haha all they said was follow up with your doctor
i told them straight up this hurts like a son bitch although i do have a high pain tolerance so i guess i didnt really show it
it wasnt a fracture it was 3 actual breaks and they still didnt give me any meds
i did a follow up told the doc my foot was throbbing and i was in pain he gave me tramadol.... i literally looked at him and threw the script back at him
i told him might as well send me home and tell me to down a bottle of jack ....which i did but that wasnt the point haha
guess in TX its a bit more strict when it comes to pain killers or maybe i was having more bad luck i mean i did break my foot![]()
