just watched Cold Mountain and that was filmed in Romania... my home country. well.... ive had some pretty rough times these last coupla days so this is straight what my brain told my fingers to type. i dunno whom its about.. i dun even know why i wrote it... enjoy..

i pleaded with him that cold November night, staring into space.
and now, the footsteps in the snow left me with nothing to achieve
except for a struggle in following their disappearing trace.
he left me as a child left by his mother
and i had to learn things my own way
although the hard lessons to learn, i never bothered.
and i closed my eyes and tried to imagine the words to me he'd say...
he'd take me by the hand and let me wonder round
guide me around puddles, mud and stony ground
i would never fall nor tremble, never faulter, put a foot wrong
i could even close my eyes and walk, all while humming some old song.

the cold Romanian snow now gathers round the forest trees
as i let myself slip into a melancholic dream, with such ease.
i walk outside, the smell of freshness enters me
and in the glistening moon-lit snow, his footsteps before me i see.
as an old woman of eight-four
i dare not go beyond the front door

they make a path where it is he i find.
