So I went to the doctor for an antidepressant and he gave me nortriptyline (Pamelor.) I've never heard of it, but I looked it up, and it's a tricylic. That's pretty much all I know. Does anyone else have any more information on this drug for me? And can you give me some advice, I also take gabapentin for both anxiety and nerve pain (and sometimes abuse it) and Zyprexa (olanzapine) for bipolar and Percocet for back pain and Topamax for migraine prevention and Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for the back issue as well. That's about it, I got prescribed a new thing from my NS just today but I haven't even looked at it much less filled it yet so this is what I'm taking now and I'm wondering will I have any problems? I also want to mention I have got some Tramadol laying around and I occasionally take a very low dose of it to boost my pain meds. I know I should ask a doctor and not go by what people say on a forum but the sum of knowledge on this forum is pretty impressive. I got this medicine from my GP, and he knows about all my other meds, and I would like to think he wouldn't prescribe me something that would conflict with other things, but thing is...he HAS done that before. This guy throws out prescriptions like candy, I have walked out his door with no less than 7 prescriptions once. He's very old and I think memory has something to do with that and also he sees SO MANY patients every day that maybe it's hard to keep track? But anyway, I don't really trust him to remember. I would rather be smart and do my own research and just proceed cautiously. I'm sure he would be very sorry if I died of a drug interaction that he caused, but I would be dead. So. I'm looking it up, but I also wanted to run it by you guys and see if anyone had personal experiences. It's my first time with a tricyclic, I've only had SSRIs before.
