Nootropics in Australia

I have read a fair amount of literature recently regarding Nootropics or "Smart-Drugs". These really interest me, as I often seem to be lacking in motivation and the ability to retain information (especially short-term).

Basics about myself. I exercise fairly regularly, am studying full-time at university, grades are average but could do much better, have trouble with setting goals and achieving them, I often feel time slipping by as I do regular mundane tasks.

The nootropics which really interest me are the *cetams such as piracetam, oxiracetam, and aniracetam. As well as the effects of substances such as Choline, L-Phenylalanine, Gotu Kola, and L-Tyrosine.

Also, the idea of taking supplements such as a regular multivitamin, or specific supplements to enhance cognitive abilities.

Just hoping that someone could flood this thread with some information regarding these substances, whether it be in terms of legality or personal/anecdotal experiences.

Kind Regards,
Mark.

How about you play nice? :P

I have already read everything there is listed under nootropics, specifically in regards to Australia.

I was basically asking for any NEW information, as a large quantity of the info is posted around 2006-7.

I understand that the cetams are S4, but I also understand that it would not be too much of an issue to import them, and if they are found by customs, that they would only be destroyed.

I last purchased bulk (a kilo) of Piracetam about a month or two ago when a bulk powders site said Piracetam was having the FDA issue either a ban on it being sold online or it was in the midst of being scheduled so hence it was a (temp) stoppage of it being sold until scheduled. Whatever it was, it was at least being temp banned for sale, possibly forever by FDA (boo)

So, I purchased a kilo for a fire type sale reduction in price, I think it was 40% off RRP. It made through customs ok, they had opened it but nothing further was done thank fook. I use piracetam to help negate negative side effects from my nerve damage (in shoulder, brachial plexus) which results in me taking a fairly heavy pain med routine. So far it seems almost daily use of Oxycontin + Tramal + other lesser meds hasn't resulted in a marked decrease in my (brain) reactions. The main cognitive effects I've seen is a reduction of short term memory but I'd hazard to say no where near a % that someone my age + time length of said pain meds should be having a negative effect on. I thank my Piracetam usage :)

For _NOW_, I'd simply ask Customs themselves, by far the most knowledgeable people to tell you what would happen if you import X compound.

Also, the idea of taking supplements such as a regular multivitamin, or specific supplements to enhance cognitive abilities.

Vitamins will help only if you have a deficiency. A simple blood test, organized by your GP, will tell you if you do have one.

As for the nootropics, I only know what I've read on here which is probably the same things you have read. I am interested in them too though. :)

I generally run a course of Piracetam during a study semester, it improves my reflexes, memory and analytical skills.

I\'ve been able to import it many times over last year without any customs issues.

A couple weeks ago I got some oxiracetam and aniracetam for the first time, we\'ll see how that goes.

Just a note: Piracetam is scheduled as a prescription medication (S4?) in Australia and is therefore illegal to import without a script.

It still gets through customs regularly, even when they open the packages, but the fact remains that they COULD seize it. Its not a drug of abuse so i doubt you'd get more than a 'dont do it again' letter but its something to be aware of.

From memory piracetam is the only scheduled racetam, so aniracetam, oxiracetame, etc are still in the clear.
