Noob here! Greeting from the Appalachians
Hi! I've been a lurker for a little over a year and decided I should join. Maybe I can contribute some since I use this site ALOT haha
I am 24 years old. My doc is defiantly oxy. I started a few years ago because my teeth are pretty bad off and it flippin hurts. I started with 20 mg that my mom gave me a couple times a week. It went downhill from there as she used to get 150 oxy 10a a month and 75/mcg fentynal patch so she could spare a lot. unfortunately I seem to have a natural resistance and even the first time I ever had anything any less than that was ineffective. I am now up to 30 to 50 mg at a time. It's not a whole lot but I'm to the point where I have to have SOMETHING everyday or I get sick.
I still have the tooth pain and now have developed what I belive to be sciatica ( ultra severe back pain, leg burns in spots, others are completely numb) from an epidural 6 months ago plus I am physically addicted at this point but had to switch to subs for expense reasons since pills are more here than most places. It helps somewhat and let's me be the mother my kids deserve instead of laying around the house but I hate worrying daily about getting the money together to get my "fix". It's exhausting. No doctors around here like to give anything other than Motrin (can't get it to work no matter the dosage) and I don't have dental insurance so it's either this or constant pain. I understand that over a certain period paying out of pocket would probably be cheaper than buying but it's the lump sum I can't come up with and have to deal with the pain as I save up. I haven't been mentally strong enough for it so far though I have had many attempts.
I am not trying to say the ONLY reason is the pain. I do like the mental effects quite a bit but the unending pain defiantly has something to do with it. I have experience with oxy, morphine, subs, bunavail, fentynal ( Very dangerous and sedating. Do not recommend anyone ever getting mixed up with it!) gabapebtin (neurotin) and lyrica.
I understand it seems I'm being ridiculous with my thinking that being on this stuff makes me a better mom but when I don't take anything, I can't hardly function. Standing for long periods is all but impossible let alone running, picking the kids up, roughhousing, ect. Maybe I am a moron but I don't know what else to do. Before all this started I was very active. Walking 6 miles a couple times a week and hiking ( live near the smokies)
Also I am a total anime and video game nerd. And bookworm ^_^
Well that's my story. Don't judge me too harshly lol. Sorry for the novel!
