Aloha all. I've been coming to this site for a few years but never felt a reason to join. Probably because I was googling info on how to get high rather than how to stay sober. I am now going through chem dependency treatment voluntarily and am looking for any additional support I can receive to stay clean.

So. I'm in my late 20s - early 30s. I live in a bustling metropolis. I finally got my bachelors degree last June, got a full time job at an amazing company a month after graduation and then lost that position due to my addiction fairly recently. I love dogs, working out (getting back into it after getting "sober" - yay!)*, cooking and eating, coffee, playing Stella Pop on my iPhone, and researching recipes on my iPad all while cursing Apple products for their stupidity. It's probably user-error but scapegoating is easier to deal with.

*Sober is in quotations because I don't know if I feel it is legit to claim sobriety as I am currently taking Suboxone. I'm still fairly new to the medication as well as all of the information about it so please don't convict me for the aforementioned statement. I see my doctor once a week for a UA and new script - I will soon cut down from 1x/week to 2x/month to 1x/month. I would love to ask questions to those who have been on Suboxone for 6-12 months and request advice on where I can post them -- Thank you in advance.

Thanks for taking the time to read.. and sorry for the novel!

Hi,
Welcome to Bluelight! Thank you for sharing a little bit about yourself. I've taken subs and methadone before.
Congratulations on the job, degree and most importantly maintaining on Suboxone, even if new! :)

We have a Suboxone/Buprenorphine Mega Thread v. 19 and a recovery section below on the right! Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions about the site.
