This? Seems to be working fine. Your 'profile picture' is only visible when viewing your profile. From you user cp;

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 9.8 KB (whichever is smaller).

You can either upload directly from a saved image on your computer, or paste a link from another website...

no, I didn't have a problem with the avatar, my eyes just happened to miss the size requirement for the profile picture haha. thank you for the help
