Non-Techno Music on MDMA

I rolled once to a playlist consisting of music of many genres (even some classical music). What all these songs had in common were my very positive memories associated with them. It was fun.

I've never liked EDM much, I pretty much only listen to it while rolling or occasionally while tripping. Even then, it only makes up a small amount of the music I listen to, I mostly like rock (Led Zep, Jimi Hendrix, Tool, Janis etc.), hip-hop and reggae while rolling, mainly the latter two. Same as when I'm sober or only smoking weed. Rolling makes me appreciate funk on a whole new level too, Funkadelic is great while rolling, Maggot Brain is given whole new meaning by MDMA. Same with a lot of soul music, because there's so much emotion in it. A lot of Otis Redding (Sittin' On the Dock of the Bay is kickass) is great while rolling because his voice has such emotion to it.

I find that whatever I usually like, I like a lot more on MDMA, and I also love some things I don't usually care for.

RWC (Round Wave Crusher) for me

and maybe goreshit/lolicore/touhou music

I usually end up listening to Infected Mushroom a LOT.

But OUT of whatever's electro, I would say TOOL is what I listen to the most and it's fucken amazing (Lateralus... my favorite song to roll to). I would also mention, however, the "Hey Jude" by The Beatles is an awesome song to roll to also. The ending is magnificent. It feels like you own the world. That being said, don't listen to it if you've been listening to trance or death metal for the past 90 minutes.

Other than that. Puscifer all the way. The style is sorta industrial, but overall it's an awesome "group" to listen to.

The title of this thread should seriously be changed to "Non-EDM" because I dont listen to any techno at all. I listen to trance, dubstep, dnb, psytrance, electro, metal, and hip hop. Not one of those is techno.

I USUALLY only listen to EDM when I'm rolling, but some good hip-hop can be an eargasm. Rhymesayers, Doomtree, Def Jux, etc.

Singing along to sublime is always good.

I fucking love singing sublime, rolling or not. My favorite band of all time probably. RIP Bradley.

I used to always roll to hip hop or other non EDM music. For the record, OP, techno is a specific genre inside of the electronic dance music category. I'm so sick of people saying "techno"... morons.

although its always hard-core music for me ofcoure :D

i have certainly experienced a bit of classical music and the olle reggae, although beethoven, being in someways semi-progressive i must say, very interesting :D

i was actually listening to blues on time, the song was "lenny" by stevie ray vaughan
and holy shit, it was such an intense moment of purity! i felt soooooooooo calm and perfect!!

the grateful dead and the flaming lips are two of my fave bands to roll along with at home. seriously, at war with the mystics is fucking incredible. bjork is also way up there.

Watching Tool peaking hard from MDA was a pretty sick experience. Any music or fun activity is enhanced when high.

SWIM Favorite Roll Music

SWIM think’s some important things to consider when choosing your music for a MDMA roll are the following:
- Your music preference in general, pop, rock, dance, classical, rap, reggae, etc.
- The best of your favorite music is likely to work and is a great place to start; your personal favorites are front row candidates as delicacies.
- Try the most current material by your favorite group or material by your favorite group that you have not heard much/before. Something with which you are familiar but that is also newish to you.
- A recommendation from a trusted friend or source, someone who is familiar with your musical taste and knows that you are planning to roll.
- If you are with a small group of friends, don’t feel badly about mentioning if a song is not working for you. No one will really mind if you ask to change the song because the current song isn’t working for you. It will all be forgotten within moments and become a new and colorful group objective.
- SWIM considers her musical tastes to be fairly wide, however while rolling she mainly prefers an electronic sound with some selections from the 80’s, more from the 90’s and most being naughties on to current.
- SWIM believes it is true that electronic music sounds better on MDMA; the wetter the effects the better. A lot of strait forward trance music doesn’t do it for her.
- SWIM thinks you should search for electronic/dance with a story and emotion, with changes and crescendos, something grand also helps.
- Check out this YouTube playlist SWIM friend made, click the top left song to start the playlist. This is your preferred method to access the list:

- Leave comments in the channel if you like the list in general or if you would like to suggest any changes/additions.
- You can also click this link to start the playlist automatically but it will not be played through her channel, yeah, YouTube is a work in progress.

Thanks & Peace.

My first time I ever did MDMA I was at a LIVE MUSIC festival. I continued to do it only at this LIVE MUSIC festival for years.
When I was not at the festival I did it at LIVE MUSIC shows.
I never raved in the 90s.
In fact, I hated techno and electronic music til I attended this "desert art fest"
That changed my tastes! But if I want my FAVORITE Rolling music, its not usually wordless techno. I love dance music but I prefer pop or remixes. I prefer live music because I was weened on it, but if its going to be electronic I like vocals. I fucking LOVE singing on E. I can see why people dont, but I do.

I remember I rolled with 2 friends and I brought all my banging hardhouse cds over and I was loving the music. Turns out I found out the next day after I went to sleep they went upstairs and turned on the heavy metal channel on there tv and was saying to eachother "now this is music" I was like r u for real? Then I know 2 other people that only listen to Alice and chains while rolling. I wanted to roll w em till I found that shit out. Id hang myself in the bathroom if I had to listen to anything else besides techno
