The ability to ascertain the purity of a sample of a drug has obvious benefits in terms of harm reduction. Whether by accident or design, street drugs may be of variable quality. And let us not forget, there really are people out there who would prefer you to die than get high.
However, it's hardly harm reduction to place your faith in -- and I'm sorry I can't think of a nicer way to put this -- some concoction that might have been brewed up in the bathroom of some random stranger on the Internet. The responsible thing would be to explain in full detail how the stuff is made; so that any interested persons can look up the details elsewhere online, or in a proper library if they haven't all been closed down in council cutbacks) and decide for themselves whether or not they feel confident in their own ability to carry out the procedure for themselves.
I have heard of Marquis Reagent, and would be very interested to see what is in it; so I hope you'll share the details with us all.
no problem, i understand. Remember you'd be an idiot to eat the stuff anyway. Mine isn't any more poisonous or corrossive than the professional kit, except you get 60 time as much for around the same price. I am fairly versed in OCHEM technique. What i make is not going to be more toxic than EZ's but I save you the trouble of dumping the packaging.
So, find some 98% h2so4 (look for stuff for recovering gold on auction sites, book stores. though any high quality grade will be fine)
40% formaldehyde solution (chem supplier, ebay)
A glass jar of good quality and small glass jars 5ml-20ml to store in (aromatherapist)
pippette, 5ml (king scientific do 100 3ml for 4 quid or something. glass with a proper bulp is far superior though

Ok get you acid and pour 95%ml in. sir constantly.over the course of about 10 mins drip the formaldehyde in to the acid slowly. add too quick and it will smoke. stir for about 30-50 mins.
use pipette to made 20 5ml bottles, label and keep. now you can experiment. methanol can change the rate of colour change. formaldehyde solution has around 10% as a stabliser, but you could always add more. I prefer a quick reaction though
IMPORTANT - this is probably obvious to most of you but the chemicals in this reagent are all toxic. sulphuric acid will burn you badly. formaldehyde causes cancer. methanol causes blindness. it's safe to use but don't be a tit and eat the stuff you tested, drink it, whatever, you will get hurt. after use don't just leave the drop chilling on a plate, wash with plenty of water. tia

Yeah it's easy. But the chemicals are dangerous. You could hurt yourself badly. many people who i've given free tests to have never heard of it at all, now they test all their drugs.
Regarding purity, i do that without fail too. i believe solvent selection/ab extraction though simple is too much for someone who just wants to get fucked up.
