Heroin nodding off violently

I'm gonna do my best to describe this. You guys know when you are about to fall asleep and then your body jumps and twitches and you wake up suddenly, like you're dreaming that you're falling?
Well when I'm on high doses of heroin and I nod out, instead of waking up from the nod nice and easy my body all of a sudden and quickly like twitches, spasms and jerks real violently and then I wake up. It's a scary feeling. I was wondering if anyone else gets this and why is it such an intense wake up?

It's called a hypnic jerk, and it's perfectly normal.
