Any girls here ever had their period prevented because of heroin?
My girl hasn't had her period for 6 months and she suspects it's because of her heroin use but this doesn't make much sense to me.
Can that actually be a thing?
No money for doctor btw
Edit: for what it matters she is 34, we are together for a weak and haven't fucked yet

6 months is a long time, but even normal stress can prevent a woman's period, so perhaps drugs which alter hormones even indirectly definitely could

When I got sober from meth, my period got really heavy.
I did some research on this and found out women who use drugs can have issues related to hormones, menstrual cycle, fertility, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and menopause.
If she goes longer than nine months, I'd definitely see a gyno. There are free places to get pap smears done.

Is she underweight?

Are you certain? This girl was very skinny too, was not showing the slightest. Baby was very small and premature. Health issues of course as well.

Unless you are certain, I promise its possible.

In any case, she should of been to the doctor long ago. Money for dope but no doctor? Makes no sense. There are also plenty of free places if she is that bad off.

Yes, very
She’s not getting a period because she’s so underweight her body has simply not enough energy to put into ovulation. It’s a very worrying sign. She needs nutrition, badly.

Edit: I should also add, if someone is very underweight and not eating properly or normally then there is refeeding syndrome when they do try to eat again. It’s very dangerous and it’s important to build up calories slowly again.

My wife didn't have a period for 3 years, we were both heroin addicts. We managed to kick the habit and within about 3 months her periods started again. We ended up back on the gear and eventually on methadone which we've been on for a couple of years now. Since being on methadone her periods are pretty much normal.

Obviously her general health and weight will affect her periods but the drugs themselves can cause these symtoms.

I didn't have my period for an entire year while I was heavily using just heroin.
I was 5'7 and 105lbs. My Dr said I was not thin enough for the weight to be the cause. And I looked it up and saw heroin can cause you to not have your period. So I went back to my Dr and fessed up about the heroin. He said that could happen. Doesn't happen to everyone though. Honestly loved that part because I was in porn at the time and escorting. But prob not a good thing idk.. dr said it could be possible to still get pregnant. Idk how but I didn't and I was obviously very sexually active.
My periods went back to totally normal and I've had 2 kids since then.

I think this occurs on a multitude of drugs including cocaine. I didn’t get my period for four months recently, which is in keeping with my cocaine use. I haven’t used it for about two weeks now and I’m starting to spot. So yeah. Drugs can defs fuck with ya period. (I did do two pregnancy tests as well which were negative)

My friend who has passed on started experiencing a lack of period for months at a time during heavy drug abuse. Opioids were sometimes in there but it was mainly etizolam and 3-MeO-PCP. During this time she was extremely stressed a lot of the time and dealing with withdrawals commonly. I think it's stress more than anything... and drug addiction is extremely stressful in general.

Bomber, a woman's menstrual cycle can be effected by a wide variety of different factors. It is definitely possible for a woman to miss her period due to drug use. As others have said, even stress and anxiety can cause a woman to miss her period.

As far as I know, her periods will resume once the drugs are withdrawn without causing any permanent harm to the individual's fertility.

So yes, this happens all the time. I've known people personally and through BL who have had their menstrual cycles effected by drug use.
