please no more threads on this drug. this is a high profile site which attracts attention from all around. i'm suggesting that no one ever even mention the word from now on. a doctor got sixty three years for prescribing it recently. it's already doomed. don't contribute further to it's demise.

Um, no. It's not doomed. Not at all. The media is the only true source that has generated a problem. It contains high doses of the same ingrediant found in the commonly prescribed Percocet, which is abused even less than Vicodin.
And very likely, Vicodin is still probably more often abused than OxyContin itself.
The DEA and FDA have no intention of pulling OxyContin from the market. There'd be no way to justify it versus pulling any other time-released narcotic other than the media just picked this one to publicize and create a problem with. The only thing the DEA is trying to do is work on ways to prevent fraud and abuse related to OxyContin.
There are many other drugs where I totally believe discussion should be banned immediately, but this is not one of them. It's not going anywhere.
 
the fact that it's timed-released has nothing to do with it. review the literature on ludes. oxy is doomed. did the media even demonize vicodin like it has oxy?

Dear god, sometimes I want to just KILL MYSELF! I want to take a full bottle of tylenol and slit my wrists as I listen to a Kurt Cobain song, then right before I actually do it I would call my best friend and tell her what I was going to do so she could come over and save me...
And why did you put periods between each letter? Are you one of those assholes that writes spams with subjects like "LIVE! HOT S.E.X SO YOU CAN C.U.M YOUR PANTS!!!!!!!!!"
