You need two syringes, cotton, drug, water.
1) Crush your DOC, add water, suck it up through a single piece of cotton as you normally would.
2) Pull the plunger out of your second syringe. Rip off small pieces of cotton, turning them into balls. Place them inside the barrel, and push them down to the bottom. Do it enough until they're about the 20 unit mark.
3) Add some water to the barrel with cottons. Push the water through using the plunger, to get the cottons wet, and compressed at the bottom. Otherwise when you add a liquid they will expand and create air pockets between them, making the filter less effective.
4) Pull the plunger out, and squirt the pill solution into the barrel with the cottons. Rinse out your original spoon/cap/cooker. Push the solution through the cottons and back into your cooker. Be careful not to bend the plunger one way or another. Straight down, using moderate force to avoid snapping it, until you have gotten most if not all the liquid through.
5) Rinse out your other syringe that originally held the liquid, to get rid of those dirty insolubles. Draw the solution back up (you can use a cotton if desired)
Note: Do not re-use the cottons in the barrel. The particles from the pill will harden the cotton and make them unusable. If you need to get the cottons out, the best way I found it to remove the needle (you can leave it off), pliers work best. Then straighten a metal wire coat hanger. It just narrow enough to fit, and push them out. You can rinse it, and reuse your filter in this manner.
An okay rule of thumb way to tell if you're solution is bootable, is if you can see the numbers on the other side of the barrel.
