NO LIGHTER: funny ways to light yer smoke

Basically. It all comes down to making fire. If you can combust something, anything, and sustain the flame for 10-15 seconds you'll be able to smoke some herbal.
 
If you smoke cigs you can probably light that on the stove and use it as your source when you're smoking out of your bowl. It will stay lit... And it will be easier than trying to light your bowl on the stove lol.

Also if you grind finely your shit is more likely to stay cherried if you prefer that.

Not a regular old everyday laser pointer, I'm sure?

What kind of laser? Was it relatively cheap? I'm only asking because I'd actually be interested in sparking up like that some time in the future....

No, a custom built one that is roughly 400x the legally allowed power of a pointer (in Aus at least). Even though I was showing off I went through my normal safety routine and everyone there had safety goggles on so there was no accidental eye damage caused. It's more hassle than it's worth, but it's a fun story.

LOL! I can just imagine someone insisting on wearing safety glasses before he sparks the bowl....

I'm not sure the specifics of what's legally allowed in the US, but I do know that there are some available capable of burning the shit out of paper and balsa wood (I've seen it firsthand) so I'm assuming they could spark a bowl or a J. At the very least it seems like a novel idea, ya know?
 
Lol just seeing this title made me remember all.the times as an early stoner id always hit a night every so ofyen where id have like two deadish lighters then pack something run outside and spark one to get one other flame going. I remember a handful of times too lighting candles on a stove then running outside. good times. I always usta manage to run out of fluid or have my lighter snatched at the wiededt times. :)

We had something we called "Skeef Game" back in high school-- only for little things, though. If you hand someone a lighter without saying "No skeef game" all's they had to do was say "SKEEF GAME" to legit rob a good friend of their lighter (or snack, or bike for a few hours, basketballs/footballs, etc etc). Kids around here still "play" it.

Sure, it sucks getting things robbed right out from under your nose but the cool thing was everybody was in on it so you always had the chance to make back what you lose.


As I'm describing the game, though, I realize that, to an outsider looking in, this may seem like the shittiest game ever but it made those long school hours and boring days a bit more entertaining.


I don't think I started running out of lighters until I graduated high school, lol.

Haha a couple of times at parties we've done similar except put the toaster next to the window, go outside and reach through the window to light.
 
I love that others here have used a magnifying glass. Granted this was back in high school, but my friends were CONVINCED it wouldn't work. I shut them up pretty quick, although it made for a good laugh :)

I tend to use hemp wick as well with bud if I'm not taking dabs.

I have lit a candle inside on my gas stove using a toothpick to hold the flame for a second, brought the candle outside with more toothpicks, and lit each one via the candle every time I wanted to take a hit.

it is extremely effective, just not on windy days
 
A knife on the stove is the most practical one I see in this thread. Ive had to resort to the car lighter a few times, just drop your weed onto the red hot element and its smoke. Roll up a little piece of paper into a "tube" and hold it above the car lighter to catch the smoke.

Another shitty situation is having weed and a lighter but no pipe/papers. Ive hit weed off of the pavement before with just a lighter and a paper tube. Hold the lighter onto a bowl sized bud, itll help if its broken up. It will take a few seconds to ignite, and you wil be wasting some smoke, but it will start smoldering and smoking. Inhhale through the tube, get high...
 
haha This trainhopper came through my town last summer and she told me about a similar time with no bowl/papers and so she dug a hole in the ground, stuck a straw into the ground and out through the bottom of the hole and used the earth as her bowl. lolololol
 
When i have no lighter ill.place my spoon on the oven and let it heat up the dope and water. Its actually pretty effective because it doesnt overheat it.

I once used a papertowel and ignited from my electrical stove and used it to light a candle to smoke crack.

Back when i smoked tar off foil i had NO lighter, No candle, NOTHING!! And my stove was electric so i heated the stove up really hot leaned down and placed the foil on one of the coils and tried to smoke. I was sick so i inhaled enough to get decent but it really wasted a lot and i was afraid id burn my hair and it was extremely hot putting my face to that . Dumb idea.
