NO LIGHTER: funny ways to light yer smoke

So today after taking 30 Mg DXM 5 regular strength antacids and 20 mg Loratadine to potentiate 30 mgs of Hydrocodone, I figured, a bowl would go reallllllyyy gooodd right now, but alas as I went to go see Eddie Sharp and the Magnetic Zeroes last nite (FOR FREE :) BTW) and lost my lighter there, i had no way to spark le bowlski. On top of it ALL, imma bum with noooo cash flow (The HCs were a gift and the potentiaters all came from gfs moms medicine chest, i couldnt even buy a lighter.

Long story short, I used my stove top to res-blast my metal pipe and it tasted pretty gnarly.

what are some of the funny things you all have done to light that pesky ganja when out of lighters?
 
Bowlpiece. Dry Spaghetti + stovetop + candle. Ignite stove. Spark the end of the dry pasta and use the flame to light the candle. Take candle to smoking place. Use candleflame to spark the tip of the pasta, use the burning end to spark bowl. Did this 2002-ish. I don't remember any discernible taste difference but that was a fuckin' long time ago.


When MacGyvering a flame, though, it's best if you're smoking a blunt or a joint. Easier, I mean. Bowls have to be relit, but a well-rolled J only needs a single spark.
 
too true, although i was also outta papers and weed lol but that spaghetti trick is a good one! I'll be sure to try it next time :D
 
in the daytime you can use a magnifying glass to focus the sun's rays into the bowl, that's a pretty wonderful thing to do.
 
I've busted apart wooden clothespins, lit them with the stove, then smoked with those before. And of course using your dead lighter to spark a propane torch.
 
I liked using my cars cigarette lighter back in the day & it would fit perfectly over a conepiece. Another method I have used is to heat a knife up on the electric element & use that to combust the bud.

A few years back I used to do the same thing, but with toothpicks. Probably really unhealthy considering there's probably glue or other harsh chemicals that hold the wood together. It also was pretty rough on the throat and tasted pretty bad, but desperate times called for desperate measures. I wouldn't advise anyone to do this.

...I feel like it says something about me that I never even thought of toothpicks... Uncooked pasta was my natural go-to when I was in this situation way back in the day. Strange.
 
i often light like this, and i dont know why, i have 2 hemp wicks, a lighter and candle, light one wick with lighter, light candle, light other wick with candle, smoke my stuff. dont know if it makes any different then just using 1 hemp wick and a ignition source, im crazy lol

Yeah Ive used hemp wick before its pretty cool, i like wrapping it around my lighter so it's always available, and no butane gets in the bud o that's always a plus
 
One night while working alone i had a big joint and no lighter. I have a toaster oven in kitchen, but lighting it and running out could cause me trouble. In the parking lot though we have outlets to plug in cars, i live in canada and its cold and it keeps engine warm. So i carried out this big ass toaster oven, plug it in and lit my joint. Right then cops drove by, they just stared at me. I gave them a smile and hello nod. They didnt even stop. I must have looked strange lighting my joint off this huge toaster oven, they must have thought it was a cig.

lol that reminds me of the time some friends and I went out tagging at like 2 AM and a cop drove by right as we were hitting the back of a walmart, they saw what we were doing, and the lady cop just drove by... No clue why she didnt cite us lol whatever...Oh and back when I smoked cigs there was many a time when i had to light my cigarettes off of the space heater on my floor, id just stick it through the grill and press it up against the red hot wires
