Heroin No. 4 smoke question

Just picked up some powdered No. 4 heroin and decided to try smoking for the first time. I'm using tin foil and I noticed that the dope does not start giving off smoke until it is nearly turned black. Is this normal for No. 4?

You're burning it. #4 is generally for snorting or injecting. If you want to smoke it, you'll need #3 or I've heard cutting it with caffeine to make it work(but im not totally sure on that).

You should just snort it, you will get better effects out of it. You can try doing it for novelty effect, I think it's just a waste of good heroin hcl.
