A couple days ago I read an NMI introduction from some older guy who listed an extensive non-druggy resume/intro and I responded to it, capt responded to it, and then it disappeared. I think the username was Onion3311 or Onion1313 or something like that, anyway I was wondering why was the thread removed outright? Or is it there and I'm just not finding it? Also, can the OP delete his own thread even after there have been replies?

Hi Tosh,

Yes the thread was deleted but not by any member of Staff.

Basically, the OP of a thread can delete the initial post which starts a thread and all subsequent replies are deleted along with it. Of course, they are not 'hard deleted' but once a member deletes something, they cannot undelete.

Shoot, had I known that I would have deleted my "my phone is nuking my weed!!" thread in Cannabis earlier before it got closed

:)

Just curious, why are there 2 search forms; Top center and top right? Which is best? Or would using: "keywords" site:.bluelight.ru @ Google be better? Always interested in new searching tricks besides the checkbox page!

I don't think that the search in the center currently works, but it differs from the other one because it searches other forums that are affiliated with Bluelight, therefore you can find threads on the topic being searched on other sites as well as BL.

The search on the top right works just fine, and by selecting the advanced option you can find some very specific information. In the "search for" section I usually type in the keyword(s) and switch the drop-down tab to "search titles only." This way I only get results for threads that have those keywords in the title. It really helps narrow it down compared to searching a keyword in posts.

IIRC, the center search box wasn't initially present post-upgrade, but was added back on (as it had been pre-upgrade) at a later date.

It looks pretty bad for BL having a search engine in the center of the website that is non-functional. I would think that it would be a pretty big priority to have it fixed, considering the amount of times that we tell people to "utfse," and considering that the search at the top right is not very noticeable.

It's no wonder there have been so many repeat threads post-upgrade. The search in the center had always been pretty efficient, while the one on the top right is hardly efficient, unless of course you choose the "go advanced" option and refine the search to make it more specific.
