WATT5 “The Village” Participant rules and guidelines.

NO Early Arrivals
Our event begins on Friday, May 20th at 5:00 p.m. Do not come to the event site before our Gate opens. We are not ready to receive participants before the event begins because we haven't finished building the event site, nor do we have our full public safety and sanitation infrastructure in place. By order of the BLM stipulations, those on site before our Gate opens must be part of the permitted set-up process. Early arrival passes will be issued at our discretion to a limited number of artists. Do not arrive too early without a ticket and pass. You will not be given early admission, and you risk placing needless stress on neighboring communities.
Plan your driving time to “The Village” so that you do not arrive too early. DO NOT wait on the side of the road anywhere. This poses a serious safety hazard, you may be ticketed and it places our event at risk.

Participants at Watt5 must bring all necessities to the venue: food, shelter, water, fuel, and basic first aid supplies. As you read these guidelines for responsible behavior, please keep in mind that you are responsible for yourself at all times, in every regard, as you approach, once you enter, and as you leave Watt5. Above and beyond the provision for individual survival, everyone is requested to help ensure our collective survival by following very basic rules relating to public safety and community well being. Everyone is expected to abide by these standards. Community membership is a privilege. Violation of these requirements could result in ejection from the community.

10 Rules to Keep Us All Safe!!!!

1) CARS: No cruising!
Watt5 is for pedestrians and bicycles. Except for public agencies, and Watt5 event staff vehicles, NO cars, motorcycles, motor-scooters, ATV's golf carts or go-carts are allowed to drive a Watt4 except at designated parking zones. When entering and leaving Watt5, please observe posted speeds limits. Pedestrians and bicycles have the "right of way" over motor vehicles. Remember: the event ends Sunday, and there is still no driving allowed on Saturday night other than in the Parking Zones. These simple rules will be strictly enforced.

2) LEAVE NO TRACE: Trash receptacles are provided.
However we ask you to please take everything you bring to the event back home with you. Groove Tribe and Sub Culture will provide only portable toilets that will be emptied on a regular basis. Do not empty trash or put anything other than human waste in the portable toilets. If you brought your own toilet, do not deposit your personal potty bags in the portable toilets. DO NOT use anything but 1-ply toilet paper in the potties-NO BABY WIPES!! Contribute to our long-term survival: Pack it in. Pack it out. You are responsible for the condition of your campsite and nearby public areas of the event. Clean up as you go! Do not deposit garbage in neighboring towns. Practice the 6 'R's: Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Respect & Restore.

3) COMMERCE: You cannot buy or sell anything.

4) PUBLIC BOUNDARIES: We will have established boundary markers for the event. No camping is allowed outside the camping area, no parking outside the parking area. Please stay within the event venue boundaries. NEVER, EVER WONDER OFF ALONE!!!!!!!

5) FIRE GUIDELINES: Safety is essential.
NO FIRES OF ANY KIND!! Per agreement with venue owners we will not allow any camp fires other than one big fire provided by Groove Tribe and Sub Culture at the Stage 1 area. ABSOLUTELY NO FIRES WILL BE ALLOWED! Refusal to put out any fires on request from event staff will result in removal from the event by security. Respect artwork. If artwork is to be burned, ONLY the artist who created it may ignite it.

6) SOUND: Be thoughtful of your neighbors and the “The Village”. Do not turn on car radios, portable radios, small PA systems, etc. up to an obnoxious level. It is not only rude, but some event participants may be trying to rest during the day. Hence why we turn off the stages and promote community activities with work shops. If a problem with sound levels continues after sufficient warning, the device or system will be disabled and you may be removed from the event.

7) DOGS: We love our four legged friends. They are welcome at Watt5 as long as they are not aggressive and the owner cleans up after their mess. We want to continue allowing our furry companions a place at “The Village” in the future. So please help us keep this possible at our event by cleaning up after them. Any animal and animal owner that shows aggression towards another animal or event participant will be asked to leave the event immediately. You may return once you have taken your animal home or to a safe place for keeping.

8 ) TICKETS: Our event begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20th. No one under 18 will be admitted without a parent or guardian. Participants are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time, prior to arriving at the event site. However, for 2011, tickets will be available at the Gate on the day of the event for $25 each. The Gate accepts cash only. You may purchase tickets in advance by going to www.groovetickets.com and searching for “Watt5”.

9) LAWS: Watt5, Groove Tribe, nor Sub Culture promote or condone the use of illegal drugs.
The use of such drugs in a physically challenging and hazardous environment can create a serious health risk. Underage drinking is forbidden by law. But we also support your right to privacy as a resident of “The Village”. Be respectful. If its wrong anywhere else, its most likely wrong here. Use good judgment and take care of yourselves and those around you.

10) FIREARMS: The possession of firearms
including BB guns, air rifles, or paint ball guns, within “The Village” is prohibited. There is a zero tolerance policy for weapons of any kind. IMMEDIATE REMOVAL WILL BE REQUIRED UPON DISCOVERY OF ANY WEAPON OF ANY KIND!!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!
