CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, N.J. -- There was nothing innocent about coloring book pages with the words "To Daddy" scribbled on top and mailed to a New Jersey jail, authorities said.

Five people are facing charges after the prescription drug Suboxone, which is used to treat opioid addiction, was turned into a paste and the paste was drawn on the pages, Cape May County Sheriff Gary Schaffer said.

"In my 38 years of law enforcement, I've never seen anything like this," Schaffer told The Press of Atlantic City.

A source tipped off a corrections officer about the scheme and the mailroom found coloring book pages with an orangey substance in February, the sheriff said.

Three pages, including two depicting Snow White and Cinderella, were sent to the county prosecutor's office drug lab for testing.

Three inmates were charged with conspiracy and attempt to commit a crime.

Haha god damn usin suboxone to color the pages that's pretty fuckin smart. "I got that Cinderalla in c block mothafucka, holla at ya boy!" The snitch was obviously somebody in jail since it said the tip went to a corrections officer, they musta been jealous of all the ramen noodles my man had.

Cool idea.

He isn't very good at his job. People have been mixing water soluble drugs (generally meth) with water and dye and impregnating paper via painting it or soaking it for many years.

I wish they hadn't closed the Microgram to the general public I miss reading about that stuff.

Exactly as villian said stuff like this makes me miss the microgram and all the creative ways people tried.

People used to do this all the time when I was in prison. They would put the suboxone or other such drugs under the stamps after it was mixed with water. I agree with Villian though, how did the sheriff not notice anything like this in 38 years? He must of been kickin back all day, every day.

lol that's funny it is Suboxone they were smuggling in... I guess for all the opiate addicts that get arrested? and its easier and cheaper to get then drugs like Diacetylmorphine

They do have done in many/most jails in NY state, but they taper you at a brutal pace, and in most PRISONS there is no methadone. Rikers will taper you befoer you go upstate though, but like I said, they do it nasty fast. There have been experimental programs using suboxone in prison as well, although the linked article is more than a little off base (states suboxone "has no street value" ...)

edit to clarify jail vs. prison

hmm... i think most prisons/penitentiaries/whatever you call them, in canada all have methadone clinics. considering how big the opiate problem in the States is, its weird how few needle exchanges there are, methadone, etc. seems really harsh for the 21st century

If corporations can make money of Junkies why would they stop...

hold on. i said it seemed theres not enough methadone treatment in the states. so shouldn't they put in more and cash in?
i dont get your statements, they're not fitting in with my stated observation -- [canada gives out more methadone in prisons, and needles on the street, than in the States, despite opiates being about 100000000x time bigger down there]

it seems like for the counter-culture americans, capitalism is to blame for absolutely everything. there are still cultural values and traditions present in the States that predate capitalism, and a lot of faults of the system are just accidents, oversights, blunders and banal prejudice.

Someone should try snorting a rail of the Mona Lisa. Maybe it was laced with some super dank chronic.
