It has been brought to my attention that in January it was signed into law that we can now purchase needles over the counter in NJ but I have called every pharmacy and they all tell me no. But when I Google this topic it was most def signed January 17 and the law takes 180 days to go into affect which should have made it legal as of July 17th. I feel like the pharmacy in my area is just saying no because they don't wanna sell them which drives me crazy these idiots are just promoting disease.

Anyone in NJ have any info on this please reply... also I'm not sure if I posted this in the correct forum if not feel free to move to proper place

please contact needle exchange in newark, they will gladly give you many sets to use free of charge. Please use a new set each time, NJ can be rough. Personally, ive watched NJ for a while now & i wouldnt rely on politicians to ensure addicts survive. They will say it to get the vote but when it comes to acting upon their words theyve a lousy track record. Even if the bills passed NJ is full of the red tape of bureaucracy. central & first

Like Frosty said, go to the needle exchanges.

The pharmacists don't have to sell them to you because of their flawed "religious beliefs" (more like deep hatred for drug abusers).

The best you can do is complain to the people who manage the pharmacists, maybe one day they'll realize they are losing profit by not selling needles and it is simply not viable to be so stuck up on the issue.

They likely hate the idea people will take it upon themselves to educate & rendering their positions obsolete. Knowing big pharma they will fight tooth & nail to prevent that day from ever coming. Maybe they will be told to sell them to people but id expect a lawsuit first if possible to set a case precedent.

I'm very familiar with the needle exchange program I go to Atlantic city bit its really far for me to drive either way to a.c or to Newark but I am very much certain that it is now legal in NJ to purchace 10 syringes legally with a photo ID proving that your 18 but all the pharmacies claim they have not received notice of the law change yet. But if you take a minute and Google it you will see 100's of news posts and legal web sites stating that Chris Christie signed the law effective January 17th and it takes 180 days for that law to come into affect and I also.read on another site that as of July 17th we should be able to purchace then. I don't drive so it is much easier for me if I could just walk to the pharmacy a few blocks from my house and purchace syringes... but like I said I believe that because I'm in the suburbs these people are too stuck up to sell them like its not a matter of there opinions on the matter I am a needle addict I prefer to inject everything from coke to heroin to pain pills to suboxone I even inject my unison when.I can't sleep. Please don't judge me either I'm.a grown man and make.my own.decisions

These people need.to.stop.being so.stubborn and realise that by selling.the syringes they are.saving many people.from.catching a disease. I bet they will think twice about it when a family member of theirs gets hep c or HIV lets face almost every family out there has atleast 1 junky

I won't judge you for being an addict. I am as well as many in my family. It's proven that most addicts suffer from an endorphin deficiency in their brains.
However, I will judge you for not IVing safely and not doing what you can to reduce the harm to your body. Pills should not be IVed... they are not meant to be and they're full of binders and fillers.
I hope you are micron filtering, using clean needles every time, washing with antibacterial soap and using alcohol swabs, and never "cooking" your shots (only use clean, distilled water in a sanitized container).
