Sometime last week, I didn't actually intend to try nitrous oxide. I drove down to my sister's apartment to give her a kitten I had promised her. I went in and we watched the kitten settle in, and then she offers me some nitrous oxide. Having never tried it, I decided to. They were in these little compressed metal can things.
My sister's boyfriend showed me how to do it first. He filled a balloon with nitrous oxide and showed me how to breathe it in, and then breathe it back into the balloon and do that over and over without taking any outside air until all the nitrous oxide was gone. My sister did one next, and then she filled a balloon for me. I really didn't like the idea of hyperventalating into a balloon. I was afraid I would deprive myself of oxygen and do brain damage or something. My sister said it wouldn't happen from just this amount, so I did it. Honestly, the sweet taste was sickening. I hated how it tasted. Warm and thick and sweet. Like breathing in vaporized frosting or something...
After finishing, I put the balloon down and started to feel a tingling sensation. My whole body felt floaty and tingly, and when I wiggled my fingers it felt funny.
A few seconds later, and started to hear a faint "wah....wah..." sound that kept repeating. A siren went off outside, and I was having trouble comprehending the sound and how it repeated. I thought I was imagining it, but I wasn't. With each breath I took, I hear the "wah" sound a little louder. It made me think of a computer, so I started imagining I lived in a world where everything was a computer. The walls, and couches, etc. I told my sister "Everything feels like a computer" and my voice was really low sounding, which made me laugh.
Within about half a minute, it was all over. =P I liked it and would like to try a higher dosage, but I'm far too nervous about doing serious damage to do any more than I did that day.

). Such an interesting chemical, it does deplete your b12 so it's always nice to have a few bananas or some berocca afterwards.
