I have a question about using nitrous oxide. When I use a fair amount of NO2, dissociatve, out of body, black out, or visual effects happen. When doing this in front of the mirror however, the experience is only auditory. Also, when I do other psycedelics I get typical face morphing in the mirror, but effects like patterns or breathing surfaces stop, even the reflection of my surroundings. Can anyone explain why this might happen? Thanks.

It's because you're focusing on yourself in the mirror, do you dissociate with the visual experience of yourself?

No. With the image of my self visible in the mirror, or even the reverse shot from a smartphone camera I do not disappear, black out, leave my body, or dissociate in any way.

On LSD the wall behind me in the mirror doesn't breathe even when focusing on it only and not my reflection.
