Nitrous is very safe for you while rolling mega thread

Nitrous is great fun on so many drugs including MDMA - its short lasting, pretty safe but very moreish once you start.

Tonnes of theads about this around the place if your looking for more information / views on the subject

Man, I must apologize for my incredibly inaccurate post above re N2O displacing O2. A quick search revealed it to be far more complicated. From wikipedia:

The pharmacological mechanism of action of N2O in medicine is not fully known. However, it has been shown to directly modulate a broad range of ligand-gated ion channels, and this likely plays a major role in many of its effects. It moderately blocks NMDA and β2-subunit-containing nACh channels, weakly inhibits AMPA, kainate, GABAC, and 5-HT3 receptors, and slightly potentiates GABAA and glycine receptors.[27][28] It has also been shown to activate two-pore-domain K+ channels.[29] While N2O affects quite a few ion channels, its anesthetic, hallucinogenic, and euphoriant effects are likely caused predominantly or fully via inhibition of NMDAR-mediated currents.[27][30] In addition to its effects on ion channels, N2O may act to imitate nitric oxide (NO) in the central nervous system as well, and this may relate to its analgesic and anxiolytic properties.[30]

I've tried nitrous on lots of things...from mdma to acid to ketamine... every drug is affected differently by nitrous.

The effect of a whippit by itself is also dependent upon how long you hold it in your lungs and how much of an 8g cannister you can actually take in...Some people can hold an entire whippit and others can only inhale 3/4 due to smaller lung capacity.

A whippit that is not held in can cause you to laugh and feel a tingly sensation across your limbs, it's almost numbing in a way. You also feel a head buzz and a bit euphoric.

If you hold a whippit in for awhile, you will experience everything above, with the addition of auditory hallucinations/distortion of sound (I hear what sounds like a helicopter noise), maybe some patterns in your vision, and dissociative effects. I've held whippits in for a substantial time and when the effects wear off there's a bit of mild confusion as the dissociative effects wear off.

You get auditory hallucinations and distortion of sound if you hold it in for a second or two, you do not need to hold it in as long as possible to receive the desired effects.

meh, if i only keep it held in for under 10 seconds, i get little to no auditory hallucinations. everyone is different

One time me and my roommate were doing a bunch in a his old dorm room, and the building was right by a big waterfall. I started to freak out from auditory hallucinations caused by the sound of the water and the whippits haha.

L+K+nitrous=fanfuckingtastic

mdma and nitrous is good too. nitrous sober is kinda a waste, i prefer to save it for later.

First of all I frickin love nitrous.
Second of all nitrous can be very dangerous. Nitrous enters your alveoli and leaves your alveoli at a much quicker rate than oxygen. This can lead to dilutional hypoxia when nitrous is leaving your system and air (room air only 21% oxygen) is trying to enter. Also nitrous shrinks your alveoli during this process making o2 entering the alveoli even harder. So nitrous can lead to hypoxic injuries and remember to breath some air and deep between nitrous hits.

nitrous is pretty safe but...

I just had to post this again bc I feel some people are giving bad info

This is very true and I will move it to the Nitros is safe thread so people dont only see one side of the story.

Hypoxic injuries would be very hard to pull off, considering nitrous would usually make you go stiff for a few seconds before any damage was done to you. I don't think you take into account how powerful it is as an anesthetic. You are pumped with so much more at a dentist, they put you out...

You get more nitrous at a dental office because it is pumped through a tank to a mask. You don't have to stop and take breaths in between balloons etc. However, in a dental setting its never any more than 70% nitrous and is always given with no less than 30% oxygen. Oxygen content in the air is 21% so every patient is supplemented with greater oxygen than normal room air. This is why nitrous is not contraindicated for asthmatic patients (unless severely asthmatic). This drug is safe, just do not continuously inhale nitrous with a mask and not supplement your oxygen or you WILL die.

B12 supplementation is a good idea if you are using more than every now and then.
