Hi all.

Long time reader first time poster (as they say). I have a question for you all.

Currently I am on 20mg Citalopram and 300mg (2x 150mg Sustained Release) Bupropion tablets for depression/mild anxiety.

I am currently hitting the gym quite often and am looking to do something a little more with my routine and try and bulk up during winter a bit.

I've been thinking about using BSN Nitrix (Nitric-Oxide) as a vaso-muscular dilator and BSN Cellmass (Creatine/Glutamine) as a bulking/recovery agent.

My main question is nothing to do with the supplements themselves, however I would like to know your opinions before I start taking them and whether or not you have anything to add on the topic of potential side-effects or interactions with my prescribed medication.

Here are the ingredients to both, as well as the link if you need it.

My main concern with Nitrix is that it has on the label "Before consuming NITRIX seek advice from a health care practitioner if you are unaware of your current health condition or have any pre-existing medical condition including but not limited to: high or low blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, stroke; heart, liver, or thyroid disease; anxiety, depression, seizure disorder, psychiatric disease, diabetes, pernicious anemia, difficulty urinating due to prostate enlargement, or if you are taking an MAO inhibitor or any other medication."

I know the combination of Citalopram and Bupropion effectively lowers the seizure threshold. Will any of the ingredients continue to do so any further?
Also, I'm not sure on either of the anti-depressants method of action when it comes to MAO inhibition. I know they're not MAOIs, but still.. Do the aforementioned combinations stand any chance of contradiction?

I really appreciate your guys input, even if you can't be bothered answering the whole thing.

Better safe than sorry!

I'm unfamiliar with the products, sorry. But...whenever in doubt, I turn to my MD. I suggest you do the same, especially because you are taking other drugs. Sorry I couldn't be of further help to you.

First off---EVERY supplement, vitamin, herbal pill etc.. has the statement saying that you should seek advice from a physician before beginning use...Obviously, this is for liability issues that could arise...

Second--Why did you give into that BSN hype!!? I can't front though, as I have used both products as a beginner...The Nitrix is pretty useless and requires that you take liker 9 horse pills a day just in hopes of giving you the "perpetual pump."

uhhhhh....I need to start a supplement company----who's in?

Thanks for your extremely unhelpful post that didn't answer anything I asked, yet somehow managed to cover everything I didn't care about.

If you didn't have a post count of 1600 odd posts I'd call you a troll.

I'm sorry but I posted that in a hurry and I stopped reading after I saw waht products you spent your money on....

There are really no interactions but IME, the Nitrix might have the potential to exacerbate symptoms of anxiety and nervousness...much like caffeine, but a little more pronounced...Make sure you take the tablets with meals as this will support better absorption and maybe hinder some of that unwanted jitterness...

The Wellbutrin might slightly interact with the NAC (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) but nothing that will threaten your mental health or physical well-being....

IM IN HA I HEAR ITS NOT HARD! SHIT THEY SHOW YOU HOW TO DO IT ON THAT STEROID MOVIE THAT CAME OUT NOT TO LONG AGO i think it was called Bigger is Better

you may not want to hear what PARooler has to say bout the BSN hype but he is right! i have just recently switched back to caffiene stack, with some Vitamin C/arginine for my pumps.

"Bigger, Faster, Stronger" was the name of the documentary...Awesome movie...

L-arginine and similar amino acids are usually the first ingredient on a supplements "proprietary blend" but there are some matrix-formula NO products out there that are spectacular for more nitrogen balance...

As beginners, we are all guilty of going to GNC and buying those overhyped products..

If you are sensitive to stimulants then those products could increase your anxiety. Other than that not really. The products that you want to use are pretty useless (sad but true)...

If you really want to make progress, but do not want to take steroids ingest 3 large protein-carbohydrate shakes per day.

They should include (per shake):
50 grams whey
100 grams carbohydrates
5 grams creatine monohydrate
(which is still the only form of creatine that's proven to work).

I use BSN No-XPLODE before i work out, and it is AMAZING for pumps and energy. I love it, and highly reccomend it. Though I've never used any other creatine/nitric oxide supplements to compare, but i dont think i need to because this works so well. Between that and alot of whey protein ive gotten great results.

I dont see it effecting your anxiety though the stimulant properties might. As for deppresion i could see it helping. It always puts me in a really clear headed good mood. It almost feels like im normally missing out on some of the stuff that are in there that could really help on a daily basis.
