So if i need to take 40-50mg of valium to "feel" anything how much Nitrazepam would I need to feel reaaaal relaxed. Once about a month a go I had just 5 mg of Nitrazepam and felt pretty good. Is this unusual and how much nitrazepam is too much?

Thanks all,
Robomarley

As is our benzo conversion chart in the links at the top of our forum or in the OD directory :)

"How much is too much" and "is 5mg enough" depends very much on your tolerance - check the conversion chart.

Nitrazepam is a hypnotic benzo (puts you to sleep) where as diazepam is more anxiolytic (although sedating, and benzos share the same properties just to different degrees). Nitraz is pretty heavy as benzos go. Both are long-acting (see half-life thread in the Other Drugs directory).

Diazepam and nitrazepam are equipotent so 5mg nitraz should equal 5mg diaz, but they do have different effects profiles. If 5mg nitraz was enough then there is no point upping your dose :)

10 mg of diazepam = 10 mg nitrazepam, however, nitrazepam is a much stronger sedative-hypnotic and muscle relaxant. So at those doses, they provide roughly equal anxiolysis, but nitrazepam is stronger in all other aspects.
