Hey guys and gals! My name's Awz and I just registered to the site. I've been a longtime lurker and have learned quite a bit from these forums and all the lovely people who post in them, so I figured I would make an account and give back whenever/wherever I can in the form of knowledge that I've gained through experience and lots of research.
A bit about me. I'm a 22 year old man from Copenhagen. I lived in the US for 13 years and moved back to Denmark at the end of October 2014. I started experimenting with psychoactives at the age of 14 and have tried a bit of everything at varying doses and in different combinations. I am on buprenorphine maintenance after having gotten clean off dope 4 months ago (as of 2/20/2015).
I hope to be able to come with useful information and possibly maybe even some humor. I look forward to interacting with y'all!

Welcome to BL! :)

I've recently quit buprenorphine; best of luck with your recovery. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks! How did your taper go? I've been on 16mg a day since early November, and I'm looking forward to starting to go down in dosage but I've been kinda worried about the withdrawals. I've heard mixed things about them. Some people, my doc included, says that the withdrawals are really easy to get through and barely unpleasant, but other people have said that they're almost as bad as dope sickness in terms of discomfort and disphoria. What was your experience, Capt?

It was hard and hellish

Still adjusting.

But I was on Suboxone for 6 years.

Let me know how it works out for you

I was on suboxone for two years. I should've stopped after a few months but didn't. It really wasn't that hard to stop, but it seemed to take months to get my energy back.

Hi Awz!!! Kratom's my thing now, plus a small scrip for pain. I quit IV morph and occasional heroin 14 days ago and I just started to feel better. Do you feel a buzz off bupe? Hey Captain H, why if I may ask did you quit subs? Is it obvious to anyone who's used them for long that they effect your life badly? Thanks, and congrats both of you!
