I don't have the luxury of seeing any preseason games or pretty much any media coverage other than which Australians are playing for who.

Somehow I don't think knowing anything about punters is going to help :(
 
during the preseason all you have over here is a bunch of pompous windbags making predictions based off what they think is credible insider super analyst info. it's annoying as fuck and they're typically wrong. it's like watching politicians argue, and it's more of just hyping the season for entertainment purposes than actual good information.

agreed with two in the pink, if you really want to look at preseason analyst stuff (which i don't give a fuck about), just keep up online with trades and injuries and shit. that's really all i base my first week or two of picks off of. that, and the history of the team and how they did last year.
 
Stat analysis? Fuck that shit. I pick using a combination of favourite colours, mascot match ups and hunches.

I haven't done too badly in the past. I think I was top 5 last season and picked the most winners the season before. Sometimes you over think stats.
 
Stats mean less in football compared to every other sport because there is only 16 games.

That's a very small sample size compared to 82 or 162 game season

That's why some people are extremely good at betting on baseball (I'm not one of them). An MLB player plays the same amount games in 1 season, as an NFL player plays in 10 seasons.

I expect the Dolphins to get smacked right back down to Earth when they come into Buffalo next week. After today's win in Chicago Ralph Wilson Stadium is going to be absolutely deafening. The Patriots not being as good as everything thinks they'll be this season made Miami look better than they are imo.

I've been arguing since preseason last season that Brady is on the decline. I was almost burned as a heretic when I created a thread about it on the Bills' message boards at the beginning of last season. I showed that all of his stats had been in (slight) decline for 3 consecutive years. I think Bills fans have Stockholm syndrome.

Bill Bellichick is famous for shocking his fanbase by trading top-tier players before they decline. I wouldn't be surprised if he traded away Brady for a king's ransom next season before his value starts to decline rapidly.
 
gm, good for you going 2-0 on those games but you get no props for the predictions because you always choose buffalo to win and new england to lose regardless of the matchup.
