News - Perth Drug Menace

There was a similar article run in The Advertiser (Adelaide) last week. If I remember correctly it was almost exactly the same. The next day an article about Exstacy related deaths in Adelaide appeared (which were actually PMA related). They both had subtitles the Drug Menace. Meth and speed are huge in Adelaide at the moment and have been for ages. One thing I've noticed is that you can no longer get a g of cut speed. It's all "pure" of varying forms. Adelaide is flooded with it and there is definately no shortage of complete nutcase bikie wanabe's down here. No shortage of real bikies too! Makes for some interesting events every weekend!

Wazza (+others) - The $500 gram could be based on $50/pt - something low scale users could conceivably pay. Even in decent circles meth is never that cheap, and 50/pt wouldn't be far off the mark for some.

Junga - free speech fine (it seems to be thrown around everytime someone tries to defend stupidity and intolerance) - but this is a harm minimisation site founded in research and a liberal, accepting attitude to drug use. If you can't or won't accept that then how can you expect people to take you seriously?

Yes we get the real ice down here. Although most of the time people wouldnt know it. Commonly dd's wont differentiate the two or some will but wrongly i.e, take this its 'ice' when really its jsut plain cystal meth. 'ice' is more dominant in certain areas of perth.
