Just noticed that there is a new Panadol "Strong" product on pharmacy shelves. It contains 500mg Paracetamol and 65mg of Caffeine.

It is being very prominently marketed at the Pharmacists counter.

My understanding is that the enzyme converts 10% of the codeine into morphine. The ceiling dose of codeine is around 500-600mg. So even if u double dose u still wont have more than 50-60mg converted into morphine. The reason why u mite feel it more (just like me) because we all prob loose a little bit of codeine through the extraction.

You are correct... for most people.

Remember how 10% of the caucasian population can't get morphine out of codeine? They are called poor metabolizers; they have insufficient copies of CYP2D6 for codeine to be effective.

Conversely though, a small amount of people are extensive metabolizers. I've got the sneaking suspicion that's me, either that or I must be terrible at CWEs and everyone I've taught it to (in real life) is way better at it then me.

I just went and got a 24 pack of Nurofen Plus and I had to write down my details... They said that's the most I could get without a prescription WTF. What is this world coming to when you can't even buy some piss ant fucking painkillers without a prescription....

On a side note, I'm currently doing a CWE and have used around 50-60mL of cold water with 14 tablets, do you think that should be enough? I've dissolved all the tablets in their and have just chucked it in the fridge for a little while... It works out to be around 200mg of codeine, do you think this would be enough to get me fucked? I usually take around 30-40mg of oxycodone to get nicely stoned, do you think this should have the same effects? Oh the last time I did oxycodone was on Friday and I did 50mg total all day......

^ Mmm you might find codeine a little weak compared to the oxycodone brother. 40mg oxycodone is more like 400mg codeine I think...

And yeah the pharmacies are fucked now aren't they.

Bugger so maybe I should just dissolve the other pills in their hmmmmm.

I might just down what I've done so far, wait an hour, see how I feel then do the rest if I don't feel fucked enough...

Yeah the Pharmacies are a bit fucked but the funny thing is I had a good old chat to the one down the road from me about oxycodone and what not and I tell you what, I'm sus on this little girl now... I think it's time Mushi laid down the tunes on this little birdy bahaha

^ remember though codeine inhibits the enzyme that metabolizes it, so re-dosing won't work too well comrade.

Bugger, I didn't know that... Lucky for me my filter broke and it all went into the bottom so I had to start again hahaha. So now I've got 24 tablets in the solution and am going to try and strain it off without the filter breaking through this time...

Try using two coffee filters, that's what I used to do.

^ or filter through some material first to remove 90% of the binders & gunk. Yeh mushi if you're taking 30mg of oxy at a time then you're barely going to even feel 14 nurofen plus.

Yeh so-so, had a flu & throat infection recently so have been kinda sick, disgusting and lazy. Have hence done no exercise for a few weeks and have been hitting the codeine, rikodine, and alcohol far too hard

haha getting kinda off-topic, perhaps this should be renamed the codeine social thread or merged into the other codeine thread now that the new law/scheduling is in place?

I am confused by the comparison of 240mg codeine to 40mg morphine. I thought codeine was just a pro-drug of morphine and this was responsible for its recreational and analgesic effects, by the general 10% morphine conversion this would make 240mg morphine equal to only 24mg morphine, can anyone clear this up?

Codeine has a much higher oral bioavailability though, if you take 40mg morphine orally you'd lose a lot of it before it's ever metabolized.

Funny actually I used to wonder if the % of morphine that was made from codeine had a higher BA% than morphine used orally, I guess I have my answer now!

Y'know, I used to be a massive codeine fiend. Once ordered about 3 grams worth for an experiment, but instead used it all over the space of about a week and a half >_<

But since the new laws have come in, I've just switched to Rikodeine. I have to hand over my details anyway, so might as well get something stronger...

Anyone else doing that?

rikodeine is easy from my experience, i just say my doc recommended it to my for a dry cough, which is true(hope thats not sourcing) but i am 27.

never had my details taken down, just given the 100ml bottle, to which i reply; is it more cost effective to get the 200ml? and yeah not any hassle so far
