A DEATH and two overdoses have been linked to two new illicit drugs which have similar effects to LSD including bizarre behaviour, paranoia and seizures.

Two people have overdosed in the past 11 days and a man died in March, South Australian police say.

The drugs, believed to be produced in China, are distributed in a similar way to LSD - on blotting paper, Detective Inspector Derryn Phillips said.

"One of the issues of these drugs is that if the effects are not felt almost immediately, users tend to double dose or redose and that creates further issues," she told reporters on Wednesday.

Their effects include bizarre and irrational behaviour, paranoia, fear and confusion, as well as increased body temperature, sweating and seizures, she said.

The drugs, known as 25I-NBOMe and 25B-NBOMe, are a derivative of potent hallucinogens which are banned in South Australia.


The drug called 25I-NBOMe was "possibly" known on the street as "25-I", Det Insp Phillips said.

"The warning we have in relation to these drugs is that they are relatively new, so therefore the long-term and short-term health issues are not known," Det Insp Phillips said.

"Users of these drugs are in fact setting themselves up as guinea pigs.

"The toxicity of them is not known."

Goddammit.

Knew it was just a matter of time before this shit started happening with nbomes. Time to stock up on 25c i guess, the banhammer is inevitable in the states with excuses like this to rationalize doing so.

Fucking glad i got my lifetime supply of 25i and 25b.

I'd like to know the deets of this "OD", and whether or not it was blotters, powder, mixed with other drugs, the dosage taken, etc. But the media hysteria shitstorm to follow events like this is going to make that very difficult. :X

FUCK I hate to say it but it looks like 25X's could be hangin on the gallows pole in the near future. Goddamn you society. Goddamn you.

The drugs are suspected to have been linked to two recent incidents of psychological and physical harm including non-fatal overdoses in the past 11 days and a death earlier this year which occurred in South Australia.

The drugs are marketed in a similar manner to an LSD tab.

Acting Detective Superintendent Derryn Phillips said, " If it is suspected that a person is suffering from a drug overdose it is vital to immediately seek medical assistance".

geez thats pretty shitty news but anyone who takes such a huge ass tab without researching the average size of a LSD tab deserves it. If the print isnt very well known and/or is bitter then its a spitter. Cant expect much more from SA LOL its keeping its form thats for sure haha

There are some scary chems floating around, and it's a shame that people who dont know how dangerous they are able to access them, but I agree - once you get a news story, you get a ban.

There's nothing here to suggest that anyone has died though, it says "it's suspected" that a death earlier in the year was related with the two drugs which honestly I doubt, there's so many RC's it could have been that caused that ONE death they refer to.

Just a typical media shitstorm that makes one want to bash their head against a brick wall screaming "WHY ISN'T IT JUST REGULATED ALREADY?!"

How many fucking news stories do I have to read where someone has died and the media jump up and down "You're just don't know what you're going to get duuur"
Seriously is there ever a point where common sense prevails and people realise "Hey what if we stopped treating people like criminals who do drugs and actually uuuhhh, educate people, supply them with safe and chemically pure substances, allow free discussion and information about drugs, for no reason other than EVERYBODY'S SAFETY!!!

Unfortunately, it always requires some rich pricks kid to die from an unnecessary drug overdose before they wake up to the idea that peoples safety is more important than the money being made by this dangerous and completely illogical prohibition laws.

apparently not. from what i've read, there are a number of ways people can administer the NBOMe series of analogues - from vaporising, intranasal, buccal, IM to IV. i'm sure i've read of people plugging it too...

it is very poorly absorbed if taken orally (ie ingested in a capsule or something) but i have read reports of accidental overdoses where people have mistakenly swallowed huge amounts and gotten high. this is really dangerous - taking more than a couple of milligrams can be fatal - but there is some suggestion of oral bioavailability or even that the first pass metabolism converts 25i-NBOMe to 2CI, for example.
the biochemistry of that is all a bit above my head - but we are talking about super-potent hallucinogens here - definitely active in a lot of different ways.
there have been a number of reports of people in PD dosing themselves inadvertantly whilst dealing with the drug in its pure form, making solutions, laying tabs or even just handling tabs.
this series of drugs needs to be approached with the utmost caution.
if you are going to buy any of the NBOMe drugs, please do as much research as possible before playing around with it. it can be very unforgiving.
the guy that started this thread miscalculated his dose and went into a seizure, breaking both his arms and nearly dying.

beware! this stuff is not LSD. it is very easy to overdose, and it can kill you.

Only been to SA once canoeing and bogans threw tinnies at us from the shore because we apparantly scared away the mullet they were fishing for. Never again..

Anyway, back to harm reduction (snigger)....

I went to Sydney once and a bunch of 8 guys thought I was too big so bashed the guy 50 metres behind me for fun and broke his jaw, nose and eye socket once I was out of sight.

The moral of the story is that idiots are everywhere.
 
One of my friends had a tab on the weekend that was sold to her as "LSD with MDMA" I said it definitely wasn't MDMA in the tab, and if it was sold as something that isn't LSD and the affects she described I think it's likely it was these instead.
Shame for these to be passed off as LSD when they're a good drug I've been told. Ultimately people always have the right to know what they're ingesting. If only it was so simple.

SA has a long history of passing off DOx substances as LSD. More so than any other state. Sustanon isn't commenting on the prevalence of Adelaide bogans.

But he could have ;)
 
Yup I wasnt commenting on the citizens of Adelaidians:) I have many friends from there who are all cool people. What I meant was the shit tabs originating from SA example DOx tabs. If its that u certainly know where its from, thats what I meant.
 
Haha yeah i didnt really mean anything by it. And yes all i smoke is organic outdoor we got the perfect weather for it down here.

I havent touched lsd for years and ive hered the storys of doX being passed off as lsd in adelaide, i wonder if this was another case or these people thought they new what they were doing but misscalculated the dose?
