Here at ITM we always assumed he was a bit of a crackhead, but now we’ve been shown the unfortunate truth after Mr Potato Head was apprehended for attempting to bring almost 300 grams of ecstasy into the country. At the time of writing, Mrs Potato Head was not available for comment.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, customs officers at the Sydney International Mail Centre located the large quantity of MDMA (ecstasy) tablets when they performed a cavity search on the suspect in question, which were discreetly concealed in a small taped bag concealed inside his head.

The matter was referred to the Australian Federal Police for investigation, and speculation suggests that Mr Potato Head could face life imprisonment for his crimes. Although no further arrests have been made so far, the AFP claim they have disrupted the activities of the wider criminal syndicate responsible.

Stay tuned to ITM as Australian customs officials close in on the crime network headed up by Mr Potato Head, allegedly supported by the Care Bears on LSD imports, Ken on steroid supplies and Barbie fronting a global prostitution ring.

Busted ... almost 300 grams of ecstasy was found when officers selected a parcel containing children's toys for examination.

An attempt to import ecstasy inside a smiling Mr Potato Head toy has been foiled by Customs officers at the Sydney International Mail Centre.

Almost 300 grams of ecstasy was found when officers selected a parcel containing children's toys for examination.

Upon opening the parcel, Customs officers were greeted with the smiling face of the popular children's toy.

When a panel from Mr Potato Head's back was removed, a quantity of MDMA (ecstasy) tablets was found in a small taped bag concealed in the cavity space.

The tablets weighed an estimated 293 grams.

Customs Acting National Manager Cargo Operations North Karen Williams said the attempt to conceal the drugs was unusual.

"Whilst this is one of the more unusual concealments that we have seen in recent times, people need to be aware that Customs officers are alert to unusual and often outlandish methods of concealment," Ms Williams said.

"This find once again proves the strength of Customs risk assessment techniques and also highlights the effectiveness of Customs staff and our technology at our facilities throughout Australia."

The matter was referred to the Australian Federal Police for investigation. Although no arrests were made the AFP disrupted the activities of the criminal syndicate responsible.

The maximum penalty for importing drugs into Australia is life imprisonment.

LOL I love that they sent his extra set of eyes along with. They must've known that whoever was receiving the package would want to play with it once they were good and high :)

He meant no harm... Mr Potato Head did not deserve this :(

Thats not many pills, you could of done a better job at a scatter attempt in normal envelopes and get it through. It will not disrupt that small network. Or network if that was just one of the packages being sent. They will find another drop and use different names, methods and packaging.

... wow people really bother trying to import pills these days..

You'd at least think people would be trying to import high purity meth or chemicals suspended in ethanol or something non-suspicious on the xrays... "bottle of booze... fork... spoon.... kids toy full of pills?"

Wonder if they were even tesdted or just assumed ecstasy. The press looks like it came from that comapny that sells custom made piperazine pills with different doses, anytihng u want, with like 50 logos to chose from and any colour,.
