A brackish hope ever envied
destroys the suicidal
pangs and tweaks
muddled with pasts oblivious
and deadly. Jealous rage
fizzles into self-absorptions
previously stifled by all the
toes waiting to be
stepped on - crush those in
the way, I say. Arrogance wages
it's first offensive into avenues
closed under self-doubt roadblocks.
Rather push forward and overstep
rather than watching steps so secret
they never come to be.

I really dug the opening line, but the whole piece was a good read.

Well, thank you, I definitely appreciate that, and yes, It's deninitely hard to find that one perfect word to say what you want...but that's why we write, isn't it, to try and work out the words that we want to say. I'm hoping I did that in this piece.
