NEWS: Camping trip ends in 'terrible' tragedy

Tragically, this car accident leaves 2 dead and 3 fighting for their lives.

I'm posting this here because, sadly this effects one of the Bluelight family and one my close friends...

L3niad was one of the 3 severely injured in this accident. L3niad had to be airlifted to Melbourne and is currently in an induced coma at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He's suffering from bad head and chest trauma and a broken back, along with other serious injuries I wont go into; he is in pretty bad shape. Supposedly according to his family and sister, he is to be woken up today to assess his brain function and recovery. Unfortunatly due to his injuries he will most likely be put back into a coma tonight or tomorrow.

I'm at a loss for words....

The other 2 persons, who's names I wont mention are in critical condition also. The male, who was another close friend of mine, suffered major head and chest trauma and will probably be in a coma for a few weeks, and the female, the supposed driver of the car is in terrible condition. She was found outside the wreakage after going through the windshield, she has a broken neck and back, and deep cuts to her head. She is also in a coma and on life support at the Royal Melbourne or the Alfred (I'm not sure). According to friends and doctors if she wakes up theres a good chance she may never walk or talk again.

And finally this brings me to the tragic loss of one my happiest, outgoing and fun friends. :'( I wont mention his, or anyones names just yet, but I'm quite sure he was a member here on Bluelight. He along with another male were in the back seat when it went roof first into trees. The resulting crash killed both of them. I hope to God that it was instant. I can't bare the thought of suffering :'(

As I sit here writing this in tears, I ask you to please pray for all them and their families :( This is a terrible thing to happen to anyone, let alone someone as young as them.

This is so devastating.

The world has lost some beautiful people; my heart goes out to all those affected <3

re L3niad....breathin 4 himself this morn 10am ish...off sedation 1130am....respirator removed 2pm....slowly slowly wakin up all arvo....havin a mumble n a sook at 7pm..gettin response fm all limbs except his right leg is very weak.....pain only response....hope will come good as brain bleed n bruiseing cums good..all postive except we found he has multiple vertebrae fractures but his spinal cord is good....chest xrays r also lookin promising.....thanks to all....rob

re L3niad....ruff nite last nite....not likin tubes neckbrace etc....was tryin to talk....the word fuk was clear....and frequent....but unfortunatly his lungs stared to bleed again in the early hrs so they induced him again and he is not breathing for himself atm....scans xrays etc done 2day but dont know results yet....only a small bacwards step

At least we know that his brain function is okay and can still remember one of the most useful words in the english language. :P

The other 2 are both still in coma's and on life support. The male, who's name I can now say is Luke, is pretty bad, he's got pretty bad head injuries and they're not sure when he'll be coming out of his coma.

The female, who's name I can now say is Tilly, is pretty bad as well :( They've found more injuries in her back and neck and will be on life support for what I can imagine will be a few more days, maybe weeks.

All their respective families have flown/driven down to Melbourne; Luke's from Darwin, L3inad's from Northen Victoria. Tilly's parents are there be her side and her significant others whom were on holiday in South America at the time are currently somewhere over the Pacific on a plane back home.

As for the 2 that were killed, I'm not sure. I can only imagine how they're feeling. My prayers are with all of them.

Slain, it always hurts me to see people die in crashes. It's such a horrible waste of life, and the pain it causes is just immeasurable.

I just wanted to give you some assurance that your friends didn't suffer -- the forces involved are so great that people are knocked unconscious immediately. Your friends in hospital in fact may not even know what happened; they may fortunately remember nothing of it. That's quite common.

Hope this helps, at least a little bit.
 
It does. It at least gives me the hope that the moment the car struck the trees that they we're instantly numb, and in a better place before the hurt could even start. The suffering of injury and death is terrible. I just hope it was painless.

Unfortunatly the survivors are going to go through alot of pain before they're out of this one :(
 
Most terrible news to be reading on Bluelight after a long weekend. :(

Condolences to all involved, and best wishes for those still not out of danger yet.
 
it was great to have drinks with you the other night slain, the best thing to do is stick together in times like these, come over whenever for sure.

you never think these things will happen to you. my mates dont die, they're fucking troopers.

one of the deceased used BL a fair bit, pretty sure his name was dr feelgood or something along those lines, although he was a real friend so we never talked online.

drive safe everyone, this shit can happen to anyone. and when it happens to five of your best mates, well fuck what the hell you gonna do.......mix time
 
I honestly don't know what to say, except L3niad and your other friends are and will be in my thoughts. Everyone else has echoed my feelings. Much love to you too, slain <3

One of the people that died was a friend of mine .. Erich Rabold
We met a few years back at Rainbow Serpent and have been friends ever since then.

I found out come Tuesday morning once I got to work and on the internet... *sigh* I just sat there for bout 5 minutes in silence going wtf ..

In a way .. I'm kinda glad it wasn't on the way home from the party .. and so far they haven't said that drugs were involved. If it was .. the media coverage would be 100 times worse but if you even do a Google now .. it comes up with articles from newspapers all over the country.

Such a loss of life for those that passed :(

Best wishes to those that did survive .. now its the long road to recovery :\
 
Same here.

Erich was one of my close friends. He was an instant friend to most people he met. So lively. :(
It's a such a shame his life was cut so short. :(
