NEWS:ABC Online - 23/07/07 'Police warn about toxic ecstacy-like drug'

I was recently at a large music festival a couple of weeks ago, and my whole circle of friends had yellow euros. Both my girlfriend and I took a fair few on the first day, they felt a little different compared to usual stuff we had gotten from the same people. By the end of the night my girl had retired to bed early, missing the last 2 bands, and I was apparently very messy. My memory of the night was pretty hazy the next day, people saying i was acting pretty erratically. The next day i felt horrible, my jaw was feeling the worst its every felt. I just put it all down to impure pills, nothing else.

I hadnt thought anything of it until today, when i read that report on another site. I dug up my tester, and tested a half with both marquis and mandelin. Both went straight to black/purple. What do people think of the chances of multiple batches of the euros? Is there any way to find out more details of the pills the police are reporting on? We have a few left, im tempted to throw them all in the bin.

What do people think?
 
^ Depends on how big you think the risk is. Going by the fact that you and your girlfriend both had strange reactions it might be worth chucking them in the bin. Is it really worth the anxiety next time you take them, not knowing whether there are different batches? I think that you should consider yourself lucky to have this kind of warning in place :)
 
probably more likely a mdma and pma combination, if they are the same batch.
this way the pills test black, and makes it impossible to distingulish mdma and mda from mdxx and pma.

south australia tested 180 odd pills in 2005 that tested positive for mdma and pma. so its more common than you think. some people are very sensative to some drugs, and being sensative to most drugs is a good thing money wise, but not when it comes to pma!!

the reason pma and mdma would show up in the same pill is most likely because a newbie cook made pma to practise his chemistry skills before wasting trackable and expensive precursors to make mdma, and cut his mdma product with some amount of pma (not wanting to throw away a drug he spent time and effort on) to make more money. this way the product is mostly mdma and may even give more kick to the final product than pure and clean mdma would, and being cheaper the pressers are likely to go back to them for more thinking its just strong mdma, as a presser wouldnt have access to a testing devices other than marquis, mandelin, etc.. and if they used robadope they would just assume the chemist made mda, then converted it to mdma leaving some mda behind.
 
I thought i heard on the news or read or something that the pill was a yellow Euro?

And now im hearing some chick has died on the gold coast i think it was after her and her BF had quite a few of some type of pill as well. Surely there is some need for more testing and or good quality pills to be sold to users who will continue to take them no matter the risks.. Kind of like heroin addicts are allowed the get methadone, tobacco addicts can buy cigs and ppl who like alcohol can buy booze?
What i am trying to say is cant the fucking government stop it or slow it by buying or releasing for sale the pure tested pills via some kind of place like a pharmacy or something and change the damn laws regarding this drug and wipe out the dodgey backyard and even semi-commercial pressers who seem to be adding more and more SHIT to pills cos they cant get the real thing, or its cheaper or easier or whatever their reasons. If decent ones were sold like methadone for cheap price to over 21's or something surely the biz of pressing shit would start to fade off cos noone would have to buy them? Instead i imagine more and more crazy drug addicted fuckers are pressing anything from Meth to Ket to pma and who knows what else.
i dunno, seems to be a big increase in xtc related deaths recently and does the government care? Nope. Maybe they should and make more taxes from it, as we know this drug isnt as dangerous as alcohol or cigs on the user, and not nearly as dangerous on the community as alcohol.
 
JJJ is working hard to get the message across that something needs to be done about this in relation to harm minimization. Maybe somebody will listen now?

Shame people have to die before the government realizes that their current strategy isn't working.
 
Just found this on the JJJ guest book. I think it is VERY important information. It was posted the day after the Hack story about what pills actually contain.

sorry it wasn:t different pills, it seems to be the same pill, and the number of them seized that tested positive for mdma and pma, my mistake, and my numbers were a little off
