Australia's second-ever legal pill-testing trial will get underway on Sunday at Canberra's Groovin the Moo music festival, as representatives from other states and territories examine the facility for consideration in their own jurisdictions.
Representatives from Queensland Health, the New South Wales Coroner's Office, New South Wales Special Commission of Inquiry into Ice usage and a group of Victorian crossbenchers were among the visitors at the pill-testing facility on Saturday afternoon.
The ACT is currently the only jurisdiction in Australia to allow pill-testing.
The debate around pill-testing has been politically-charged, and
both NSW and Victoria's Premiers have ruled out testing in their states. Queensland has said it will closely look at the results of the first pill-testing trial in the ACT before making a decision.
It's
the second time pill-testing has been offered at the Canberra leg of Groovin the Moo, after the ACT government gave it the green light in late 2017.
