newness of it all

bushwacking this unknown territory
i find myself in a state of wonder
this is all so new, im not sure how to act
I look toward the future, but my past casts a dark shadow
blinding me from seeing what goodness lies ahead
all i can see are the ghosts that lurk in the darkness
reminding me of the horror of it all.
until now my spirit has remained locked away
Never have I ever witnessed a mortal casing unzipped

for one quarter of my existence
the game of chase was all that i knew
catch me if you can, then ill chase you
after a lifetime of movement i can stop,
but the momentum has built up so high
im not sure that i can

i want to forget and never look back
but even time wont let that happen
my mind has forgotten you
but my heart has been stained by your game
for my experiences of so long ago
appear now as if they happened yesterday
as if you are right behind me telling me to run... again and again and again
This feeling is unknown to me
I just want to stop running...and be

i love it it's one of those feelings... that only comes once in a while... and i cannot wait until i feel it again- hopefully that'll be the LAST time i feel it
