Hello my name is Tara and I am new to Bluelight.

About a month ago I started taking suboxone to come off oxycontin (approx. 4 x 80mgs daily). The doctor prescribed me 16mgs of suboxone to take sublingually.

I was sick yesterday (24 flu of some kind) and missed my doctor's appointment to get my prescription renewed so have had nothing in my system about 38 hours now and feel fine. I figured this might be a good place to come and ask if there is a possibility I won't have w/ds at all? Any help with this would be much appreciated as I can't see the doctor until Monday and I'm a bit nervous about getting sick before then.

Those green monsters suck coming off of, hell I haven't seen one of those since highschool(I'm 26 now). I remember suboxone first hit the scene, I took 1 8mg pill, and was sick for two days, 3 months later and I was going to the doctor to get a script of suboxone.

I've been a member of this board since I was 17, I've come a long way both physically and mentality since the day I joined, I learned things here that they didn't teach us in rehab. I've met some amazing people from this site and today I am happy to call them my friends, I'm not sure what kind of background you come from,bluelight has a spot for you, you ARE wanted here, we do want to hear how you are doing, and how you did it. I wouldn't be writing this on my smartphone if I didn't care, I normally do not post here much but something told me to welcome you to the site.
If you need anything at all feel free to hit me up(I think you need 50posts before your able to contact other members).
I wish you to take something positive from this site and use it to help the next new person,weather its here or in 'real life', take care and come check out 'The Lounge', :-)

I've received alot of help on here about meds and am grateful

Today is day 1 off Heroin, doing a 3 day methadone taper myself... I'm going to be unsure myself on day 4. Good luck! :)
 
Good luck! As for the Oxys, you may experience some withdraw but not for long. It should be within a day after you quit but you will soon have suboxone. Is there a specific reason they didn´t prescribe Methadone? Or is Suboxone the new Methadone nowadays?

Yea I think it kinda is because of the naloxone in it that apparently doctors and the like think can't be abused... There's lots of issues with people abusing methadone (using on top n stuff) so that's why suboxone gets prescribed - it's also why it's prescribed over subutex with is basically buprenorphine excluding the naloxone.... Although, some people have allergies to the naloxone (I guess like anything) so those people get prescribed subutex, if they are able to prove it...
