I am a somewhat opiate naive person and began experimenting with them about a year ago and kept my tolerance very low or nonexistant because i would only use once or twice on the weekend at low doses and sometimes not at all for weeks. I have never gone through a withdrawal.

Due to cheapness and availability, I have been using suboxone strips recreationally regularly at somewhat low doses and used 40mg of bupe (5 strips) over the past two weeks, dosing everyday. I would use about 2-3mg per day. Some days I would use only 1mg and some days i would use 8mg (one day of the 14 days) or 4 to 5mg (two days of the 14).

In fear of becoming increasingly physically dependent I have made the decision to not continue down this road and stopped using with my last dose of a full strip yesterday, June 1st 2012. Would like to get my tolerance back down to zero.

I am prepared for a withdrawal but curious how severe this withdrawal may be and how long it will last? I'm aware that everyone is different but input will help me out here. Would also appreciate any tips to get through the withdrawal. I still have 4 strips stashed and can buy pills.

thanks bluelight ;)

I don't think it should be that bad. In the future, don't dose suboxone that often. It's one of the opioids that should only be dosed 2x a week, max. Even if you haven't used in a while, dosing suboxone on consecutive days will result in not feeling much euphoria from them at all.

@Tommyboy Thanks for the tip... I hope it's not bad. I don't feel any signs of withdrawal yet, though it's only been about 36 hours since my last dose

@Iarespectre so what are you saying? I'm in for a terrible withdrawal? Could you give a little detail please...?

^ I think he was just confirming what I was saying, that bupe should be used sparingly. His reasoning is that dependence is easy to build, and my reason is that the euphoria goes away very quick if you use a few times a week, which is fast compared to other opiates.

I have a lot of personal experience with opiate and suboxone use. As much as I have taken, ie..o/c 100-300mg a day and the length of use, if I am not prepaired for an unexpected withdrawel, needless to say it is pure hell and for me (age & yrs of use) can be life threatening and has been many times. Luckily I usually always have suboxone on hand as well as a few other of the benzo family. I usually run out of opiates once a month and keep withdrawel to a bare minimum with suboxone. I have stopped suboxone on a number of occasions after extended daily use with little withdrawel physically and usually the mind fuck is the worse, but still nothing compared to withdrawel w/o subs. Really, coming off sub use (for me) is a lot of mindset and attitude. Hope it helps, Later, Randy
