Newbie question adderall xr's

Just have a question about adderal xr's i was just perscribed xrs from my doc i would prefer to get adderal ir's or ritalin...I just dont really understand why doctors perscribe the ir's if xr's are available if they just were made so that people cannot abuse them why wouldnt they get rid of ir's altogether? (though i am glad they didnt cuz i like them better )...anyways im rambling...I know the xrs are released slowly and irs are immediate...but i dont understand the difference in why some people get one and some get other???

They are often Rx'd alongside for the XR's for an afternoon boost or similar need. Oftentimes they are Rx'd in combination with other ADD meds as well...

Adderall rx's release half in 4hours then slowly releases the other half slowly...

thank you so much that does help...its weird to me im like scared to be like yeah give me the irs not the xrs ....lol without a reason that seems like i am an addict
