I just gotta say ... I have some real love and appreciation to those that run the site, those who share their experiences - whether proper administration, withdrawal aid or and harm reduction. I've had more than a few wtf moments where I had no where else to turn, and others where good advice saved my arse. Wish I had found this sooner and started logging in when I did ... but shit. Glad to be here now.
I want to open up more about some drug use, harm reduction and liver disease. Just not sure where to and how in a good way comfortable for me. It is odd to feel free to talk openly about those oh so taboo drugs ... but I'm excited to.
Alright ... hopefully the loperamide kicks in before withdrawal does.

Yeah I am stoked to become more social like that here. I live in a very conservative, religious right wing town so needless to say I keep to myself often and it has become pretty lonely. I'm not from the town or state I live in originally.
My weekend has been OK. I don't have much family and everyone is doing the thanksgiving thing so it's been a bit rough. Lots Both parents, my father to AIDS 3 days after Xmas and 10 years later my mom took her life days before thanksgiving so I tend to struggle a bit this time of year but I made it through the weekend and I am doing OK.
How's your weekend
 
Oh man, that's rough. This is a really rough time of year for a lot of people, so i'm sorry to hear that.
I can relate, as well - to a degree.

I tend to think of this place as a family, to be honest - so i'm glad you've said hi, and i hope you stick around and keep posting.

My weekend has been pretty good, i went to see some bands this evening, which was good - but it's getting fucking hot here, and it's been really humid all weekend. i must have drunk 10 or 15 litres of water in the past couple of days, it's intense.
 
Yeah ... I get the feeling I will be feeling similarly about this place and family. And I am jealous about the heat. It is getting pretty cold here. I live in Michigan which gets really cold and lots of snow.
I love seeing and playing live music.

Thinking I need to fix my computer soon. Trying to navigate/reply/keep up the way I want to makes me feel so slow on my phone
 
Yeah, i totally shouldn't complain about the summer. It can be hard to sleep (which is what i was trying to do when i posted that last night, haha) - but it was nice to spend the afternoon at the pub watching some live music.

Now, i'm an aussie, so when people say "midwest", i don't always know what that means. Am i right in thinking Michigan is in the midwest?
It doesn't snow here (well, it does in the mountains) but i can see how that gets old very quickly, especially when it turns to slush and shit.

You in a band man?
 
I used to be in a band. I miss it so. And we say Michigan is in the Midwest but if you look at a map you can see it makes no sense. Like much of "american" culture.
And I don't mind you saying man ... though for clarity I am not (;
 
Hey guys, also new to the site, well ive looked about over the months and the advice i've looked for has defo saved my ass a few time lol. Glad to get the gumption to actually join :)
