I've been taking Oxycodone for 7 days straight. 30 mg for the first two days and roughly 12mg for the next five days. I am wondering if I stop now will I experience withdrawal symptoms. Is this enough to get addicted? I've not taken much opiates before this

Usually it takes people anywhere from 2 weeks - 1 1/2 months to develop a true habit, although you may experience mild symptoms. These shouldn't be too hard to deal with at all. I would stop while you are ahead and place 3-4 day breaks between opiate usage

You will probably experience mild WD symptoms at this point, but it won't be anything too extreme. You can taper your dosage down slowly over a few days to reduce the severity of the symptoms if you have that option.

Quit now.. the longer you use for the worse the withdrawal will be..

You haven't used for very long and you have a pretty low dose you've been using

Quit using now and you'll have very mild or little if any withdrawal symptoms

1 weeks is not long enough to experience significant withdrawal. the only real symptom you will experience is being able to shit again.

Take it from a pain patient - a true one being treated at a pallative care unit.
Put it down.
It will tear you down.

its like benzos u wont get w/d unless u us it for a long time.
if u do happen to have any problems buy some otc phenergan (promethazine) im surprized its no presription. its a pretty strong sedative & will get u to sleep. its a sedating antihistamine.
otherwise u could always switch to codeine for a few days when u run out.
glad to see your using resposible doses.
im sick of ppl saying how addictive opiates are (benzos are another story. but only xanax) valium aint that bad either. it doses take a long time to get a real problem with them.
i mean u drink one night & ya fucked for a few days.
u have nothing to worry about

The problem is addiction can sneak up on you. Yes, opiates are more physically benign than alcohol, but getting into the daily habit of taking anything is not a good path to go down, even if you're not at the stage of physical dependence. It's a slippery slope..

You'll feel a bit fluish as your body starts producing it's endorphins again. During this time, you're body will be super sensitive to pain, which at the point you're at, will simply feel like the flu. 2-3 days you'll be fine, but like a poster stated, stop now.

Thanks for all the good advice folks!

I did the sensible thing and quit "while I was ahead" :) I haven't taken any oxy for 5 days now and I'm pretty sure I have not experienced any withdrawal symptoms. Or at least they were overshadowed by effects of alcohol or work-related sleep deprivation.

Maybe it hasn't been long enough but I don't feel any psychological draw to opiates neither. Taking 30mg made me feel blissful for a bit - but not nearly as great as other drugs.

EDIT: hydroazuanacaine called it right :D
