Hi all. I just registered with Bluelight, and am therefore officially a 'newbie'. In actuality, I used to post quite frequently on here back in the early 2000s. Can't remember my old screen name; I was hoping to find some of my old posts.

i was very much into RCs and 'entheogens' in general back in the late 90s through early to mid 2000s. I seem to recall this site had a ".nu" domain at the time, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

I actually recognize at least one screen name here from back then that seems to still be posting here ("morninggloryseed").

I pretty much quit the RC seen in the immediate aftermath of "Operation Web Tryp". I had bought chemicals from 2 of the targeted vendors, and read news accounts saying they would be arresting customers. They actually did arrest some customers in the UK, but not in the US (so far as I know). In any case, at the time I was convinced I could expect a knock on the door at any time and threw away my considerable sized stash and stopped visiting forums like this.

I had numerous interesting experiences with 'entheogens' prior to then, many blissful and profound, a few terrifying and on two occasions I accidentally OD'd (never went to the hospital either time; just rode it out and survived with nothing but bad memories). I did used to get muscle twitches back when I was experimenting heavily with RCs, and they did go away after I stopped taking RCs. Also, about a year and a half after I'd stopped taking RCs, I had two seizures over the course of a few days. Never had any since and the cause could never be determined for sure, but I can't help but wonder whether my foray into research chemicals had something to do with it.

I'm not sure what led me back here to post. I happened to inadvertently come across an article about Shulgin's death last summer and found myself looking at some of the surviving 'entheogen' related sites I used to visit often 10-15 years ago and got the urge to drop by and say "hi" for old time's sake.

I don't take drugs on a regular basis anymore but I haven't completely sworn off them.

I visited Jamaica in 2009 and was offered a lot of weed by the friendly locals. Good stuff.

I tried 'spice' back in 2010 or so a few times and wasn't particularly impressed. Then again I never tried it from a completely sober baseline (everytime I did it was at a social gathering where I'd already had a good beer buzz going).

I had my wisdom teeth extracted in 2013 and was given a vicodin prescription with one refill. I only needed to use one for the prescribed purpose but got it refilled. Those were nice while they lasted but I didn't miss them when they were gone.

The only drugs that interest me now are weed (now and then) and when I feel the urge to trip I still know how to acquire and extract DMT. I use it very conservatively though when I do use it, which is very infrequently.

I've only used drugs of any kind a handful of times over the past 10 years.

I am more interested in things like travelling and scuba diving and stuff like that now.

So, as to my drug experiences. In no particular order, I have done the following (nowhere near a complete list):

Shrooms
Acid
Mescaline (extracted from Pedro)
2CT7
2CT2
2CI
2CD
2CE
2CT21
DMT
DPT (I used to love DPT)
DIPT
AMT
4-HO-DIPT
4-HO-DET
DXM
K
PCP
Several benzyl piperazines
Coke
Heroin
Percocet
Oxycotin
MDMA
MDA
A gazillion mystery e-pills
Methylone
MBDB

And on and on...

@Papaverium: thanks for the kind welcome. Hopefully I have some useful info to share from back in the day ;)

I am a HUGE fan of DMT, and I'm impressed by the list of psychedelics you've tried. :)

I've always wanted to try DPT.

I see there's a 'Big and Dandy DPT Thread (part 2)" here. I suspect if the part 1 still exists in the archives here somewhere some of my old posts are on it.

DPT is awesome. I mostly insufflated it in its powder form, but it was also very interesting smoked.

DPT was actually the very first RC I tried, in late 1999, and it blew me away. It was incredible.

It struck me as a slower paced, sort of extended version of DMT. One unique characteristic of DPT in my experiences with it was that it always seemed to trigger memories. Trivial memories, mostly of things I'd seen on TV. But that made the memories verifiable. I had the impression that what it was doing was bringing to the surface memories tucked away in the back of my brain of the sort we probably usually filter out as unimportant. So I'd re-experience old TV commercials or old TV show intros. Some looked familiar and I'd be like "Oh WOW!! I remember that!", others I had no recollection of but it sounded SOOO real. Even promos for TV shows that never lasted long enough to make it into reruns.

The cool thing was that I would google them and find that it wasn't a delusion; there really was such a commercial or a TV show such as I re-experienced. One example I can cite is an old TV show called "Apple's Way". It was a typical 1970s family oriented TV series. I had no memory of such a show whatsoever. Never heard of it. Yet while tripping on DPT I heard TV promos for it, and saw scenes etc. "Next time, on Apple's Way..." etc. It left such a strong impression in my mind that I googled it the next day and indeed there was such a show, with the exact same name and with the exact same 'look' as the 'commercials' for it I had 'seen' and 'heard' while tripping on DPT. Presumably I had heard and seen this on TV as a very very little kid but had no memory of it.

Wild, huh?

Fascinating. Why TV stuff? Commercials? Promos for long forgotten TV shows? Typically from back when I was in the 3 to 6 year old range. I gave me the impression that everything we see and hear must be stored in our brain, somewhere, but much of it is filtered out. DPT seemed, for some reason, to bring those sort of things to consciousness; not so much in the sense of remembering them as re-experiencing them. Hearing and or seeing it again like you did when you were 4 years old or some such (and not paying attention).

There was a lot of other, more interesting, deeper stuff I experienced on DPT but I'll leave that for another post.

I remember also after taking DPT that I became very taken with classical, ancient Greco-Roman style sculpture and architecture and had a compulsion to sketch things in that style for a while afterwards. I also drew a lot of very interesting, egg themed sort of Salvador Dali type abstract etchings in the immediate aftermath of my first DPT trip. It really blew me away.

Like I said, I LOVED DPT.
