Hello ;) I'm Cryptic. 3Os, female.

I've lingered here quiet awhile, but I'm not new to addiction nor substance abuse. I'm very fond opiates, currently kicking my second Methadone stent (which I'm on day 6 and having a very weird reaction which I had the last time I detoxed. Breathing problems?!!? If I walk even a few steps I'm digging deep for air. Really all of the other "usual" symptoms are subsided. Also, No usual cold/flu symptoms). I also enjoy others (substances) occasionally but limited in comparison.
My fav thing to do is ride (Harley), I love tattoos, live music and I write poetry.... To name a few.
Feel free to hi me back... Looking forward to mingle with you all!

Hey Cryptic Chrome! Welcome to BL.

I used methadone for almost 8 years. Most of the side effects were related to sweating, gain of weight, hormonal issues and constipation. But more importantly was the fact I felt like I was imprisoned. Afterall, my life depended on me taking that medication everyday for years and years and that scared me.

Of course I was happy to carry on with a 'normal life' and I no longer have to be on the verge of having OD's. It saved me from that nasty routine of buying opiates at all costs all the time. I would only suggest that you don't take it for too long because it's very difficult to quit, even if you take one year to do so.
Take care!

Hi ericman,
Thank you for the warmth.....
I'm actually off methadone 6 days now (shoulda worded it better before). I'm doing great, over the "throes" .... Just this breathing thing is really messing with me. I have mild wd symptoms, zero "cold/flu" symptoms. AND I did the very same thing during my first methadone detox. I'm stumped.
But, I do agree with you. I needed methadone both times. But I couldn't tolerate continuing past a year.

Thanks again!
