So I'm 43 and got addicted to opiates through a knee injury a year and a half ago. Six months in I lost my insurance and I'm sure you can guess what happens next. The Big H! Now 3 weeks clean via Suboxone, although that's not all the way clean but, yea. I've been getting auditory hallucinations while on Subs and wondering if it's a thing. It's like hearing 100 people talking at once and then one person saying random shit suddenly in my ear. Sometimes it's funny stuff and other times just off the wall. It's annoying and keeps me awake. I am prescribed 8 mgs 2X a day but usually only need 8 mgs for all day. Can anyone relate?

Hi there and welcome to the site.
The amount of people that join this site with the same problem - opiate addiction through prescribed pain meds. There is a thread on the hallucinations while using subs here and another full section about them on another site here.
I have no experience with them myself but if you check out or 'Sober Living' section I'm sure somebody who is using them would be able to help you out.

But I am here to warn you, be very careful leaving the clinic. I just got targeted leaving the clinic, I was there to see the doc and for my group counseling. Seen the doc, had 40 minutes till group went to get coffee and he got me. I've had clean urines every two weeks for a year, nothin but my subs, and now I'm charged with DUI for driving on my subs. I just got my court papers last week. It says my blood levels were Buprenorphine-Free 1.5ng and Norbuprenorphine 3.2 ng. I have no clue as to if that's high or low or what. All I know is I take my 2 8mg/2 mg strips as prescribed everyday. I bent over this. I'm looking into going to the state representative about all of the targeting that is going on. That cop thought he was going to find something in my car. What he got was a 52 year old lady that is just trying to live her life right. And anyone who knows Suboxone, know that after a year of being on it, you are in no way driving impaired. It never made me impaired, not even the beginning. Just be careful.The voices and stuff ty out hear, maybe you have some kind of disorder that the med doesn't work well with. I don't know, but like people that are bipolar, if treated with the wrong meds, it can put them in a psychotic state. But I've never heard anyone complain of what you are saying before. That's kind of scary.
