Hi everyone! I lurked around for a few months and then actually joined in 2018-2019 but forgot about the site and never really got involved, so I’m coming back and hopefully I can learn a lot, and gain some insight into why I’ve always been compelled to use.
My past (and current) drug use started going around 13 and began with marijuana, then acid and mushroom. Someone how I was introduced to coke and was in love, buying large quantities and selling it to support my habit. Years later I became involved with opiates- first pills then heroin, then crystal meth to get me through opiate withdrawal.
My absolute favorite route of administration is IV, but I don’t do that anymore, I snort everything now.
After recover, then relapse, recovery, and again today I’m using anywhere from .5-1g a day of heroin. I’m able to function, work, and am earning my masters MBA so far but I’m getting burned out able my finances are in ruins. I’ve been using for about 27 years now and it’s taking a toll on my health. i need to quit, but I don’t really want to which is a problem... I’m very excited to be able to talk to others like myself!!

Hey @Bpuppis - welcome to Bluelight.

I think you'll find that a lot of us have similar stories in regards to drug use progression and even being able to hold down jobs and relationships while using.

Stopping can be hard when on Bluelight, for some people, but it's really just about being here for you and no one else. If you want sobriety there is support. I'm sure you've seen our recovery forums?

Financial ruins suck. It's my primary downfall. But like you, i have a college degree - i just had been homeless soon after due to mental illness.

Anyway, welcome again - hope to see you around!
