Newbie and recently Prescribed clonozepam

So I was recently prescribed klonopin .5mg for anxiety prn ...I'm well aware that all drugs can lead to addiction. Reason why I'm hesitant on taking the pill. So I'm here to ask what I would be expecting..? My doc told me it's like a shot of whiskey and told me I won't be hammered but mellow ..great advice from my MD right ..lol.

haha your Dr has some funny advice, I suppose seeing as alcohol and benzodiazepines both act on the GABA receptor that would make sense.

.5 of clonazepam won't mess you up, and probably won't even make you too drowsy if you are taking it during the day for anxiety. It's mildly relaxing at that dose yeah, if you are taking it before bed, that is best...... oh does it ever help with restless legs! lol

Thanks for responding. Today I'm feeling overwhelmed ,in a bad mood and anxious so I'm really considering taking 1 today.
 
It would help take the edge off, (if you haven't taken it already, sorry I haven't replied too soon, I went to the store).

I took it around 1 and I feel good thanks for the concern :)
 
Welcome !

It's too easy to become addicted to benzos, so be careful. When drugs are easily accessible, we tend to rely on them to help us feel better when we could have coped without them.

Anyway, good luck :)
 
I bought some Clonazepam off someone and I enjoyed it - I think it is prescribed for epilepsy which freaked me out a bit. The rush is similar to valium but not as strong iirc.
 
clonazepam is fantastic for anxiety and restless legs. long half life (around 30 hours i think). i found when taking them, the pills i took would even help into the next day! though i am quite small. let it dissolve under your tongue!! much more effective and works a lot faster, also just tastes like sugar! if you get to a point where 2mg doesnt help anymore, you'll find more relief from your anxiety being off the clonazepam altogether because after a while of taking them it can cause slight withdrawal where you will have elevated anxiety when not on the clonaz.
