Hi, everyone.
I got interested in this forum after reading some of the threads — the official description seems to suggest it's exclusively about rec drug use but the posts suggest it's much broader. I've been taking a mountain of meds for years for chronic illness, so I have much more experience than I'd prefer to have with medical paranoia, mostly about opioids but also even minor stuff like benzodiazepines and sleeping pills. IMO patients should not have to put up with this crap. I've done rec drugs too, although not very often even at my peak of "unofficial" drug use. In retrospect I feel lucky that I wasn't bit by the addiction bug: I tried heroin in my late teens but didn't like it much because of side fx (constipation, itching, etc) and didn't think that what seemed to me a pretty mild high was worth it: after that I pretty much stuck to psychedelics and sometimes getting drunk at parties. I've always thought that the criminalisation thing is ****ed up (for all the usual reasons) but thinking about how easily it could have happened to me just made me feel even more strongly that drug prohibition does little (if any) good and lots of harm. The bloke I did the h with (and who gave it to me) died from an OD not long after.
Anyhow, that's my general story, sorry if I tend to ramble.
